BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED

The Boil Water Order that was in place for the Leisure Lane/Deer Crossing Water main break has been lifted.

Thank you to our members for your patience and cooperation while the Boil Water Order was in effect. We appreciate your understanding while we worked through the situation.

08/23/2026

The Boil Water Notice remains in effect at this time for the Leisure Lane and Deer Crossing, Limerick Water Break.

Water samples have been collected and submitted to the laboratory for testing. We expect to receive the results tomorrow . Once the results have been reviewed, we will consult with the Maine Drinking Water Program. As soon as we receive authorization, we will provide another update regarding the status of the boil water notice.

Until the notice is lifted, please continue to boil all water used for:

Drinking

Cooking and food preparation

Making ice

Brushing teeth

Washing fruits and vegetables

Preparing infant formula

Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute, then allow it to cool before use. Bottled water may also be used for these purposes.

Brown or Discolored Water:
Some members may continue to notice brown or discolored water following the water main repair. This is caused by naturally occurring minerals being stirred up in the water mains and is temporary. Running your cold water for several minutes will usually clear the discoloration. We also recommend waiting until the water runs clear before doing laundry.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We expect to have another update tomorrow after we receive the laboratory results and speak with the Maine Drinking Water Program.

WATER MAIN REPAIR COMPLETE – BOIL WATER NOTICE

The water main break near Leisure Lane and Deer Crossing Road has been repaired, and water service has been restored.

BOIL WATER NOTICE

Anyone who experienced a complete loss of water or extremely low water pressure during the repair should boil their water until further notice.

If you are unsure whether your property experienced a significant loss of pressure, we recommend boiling your water as a precaution.

Until the notice is lifted:

* Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing food, making ice, or other consumption.
* Allow the water to cool before use.
* Bottled water may also be used.

We will complete the required water testing and will provide an update as soon as we receive results and are able to lift the boil water notice.

Brown or Discolored Water

Following a water main repair, you may experience brown or discolored water as sediment in the water mains is disturbed. If this occurs, run your cold water until it clears.

Please avoid doing laundry while the water is discolored, and if possible, avoid running hot water until the water is clear to prevent sediment from entering your hot water tank.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our crew completed these repairs.

WATER MAIN BREAK UPDATE – LEISURE LANE / DEER CROSSING ROAD

Our Public Works crew is currently working to repair the water main break near the intersection of Leisure Lane and Deer Crossing Road and is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Members in the affected area may experience low water pressure, a complete loss of water, and/or brown or discolored water while repairs are underway.

BOIL WATER NOTICE

Due to the loss of pressure associated with this water main break, a Boil Water Order will be necessary for the affected area once water service is restored.

If you are in the affected area, or if you are unsure whether you lost water or pressure, please boil your water as a precaution until we notify you that the order has been lifted.

During the boil order:

* Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing food, making ice, or other consumption.
* Allow boiled water to cool before use.
* Bottled water may also be used.

You may also experience brown or discolored water after service is restored. Run your cold water until it clears and avoid doing laundry until the water is running clear.

Please continue to use caution in the Leisure Lane/Deer Crossing Road area while our crew and equipment are working.

We will provide another update as soon as repairs are completed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

WATER MAIN BREAK – LEISURE LANE / DEER CROSSING ROAD

There is a water main break near the intersection of Leisure Lane and Deer Crossing Road, Limerick.

Our Public Works crew will begin repairs first thing tomorrow morning. Members in the surrounding area should be prepared for water disruptions, low water pressure, or a temporary loss of water while repairs are underway.

Please use caution when traveling through this area, as crews and equipment will be working in and around the roadway.

Brown or Discolored Water

Repairs to the water system can stir up naturally occurring sediment in the water mains. If you experience brown or discolored water:

* Run your cold water for several minutes until it clears.
* Avoid doing laundry until the water is running clear.
* If possible, avoid running hot water while the water is discolored so sediment does not enter your hot water tank.
