🦶 More Than Just Foot Care 💜
Today I had the privilege of meeting a new patient whose feet had not received routine care in quite some time. She is bedbound, diabetic, and living with neuropathy and very sensitive skin—making even gentle touch uncomfortable at times.
Today’s visit was all about patience, education, and comfort.
We discussed neuropathy and proper foot hygiene with her daughter, especially the importance of routine observation and care when someone is unable to care for their own feet.
Her feet were gently cleansed, dry skin areas were carefully cared for, and her nails were trimmed and filed—slowly, at her pace, with her comfort guiding the entire visit.
And somewhere along the way, a visit that began with sensitivity and uncertainty turned into laughter and joking. By the end, we were already talking about rainbow-colored polish next time. 🌈💅
Foot care nursing isn’t about creating cosmetically perfect feet. It’s about restoring comfort, health, dignity, and confidence—one gentle visit at a time.
But seeing how thrilled she was with her results? That was pretty special. 💜
She’s already looking forward to her next visit… and apparently I need to stock up on rainbow polish! 🌈🦶
