Parents often ask: Is it better for RSV antibodies to come from mom during pregnancy or given directly to the baby? 🤔

The answer: Both works!✨

✔️Maternal RSV vaccine → passes protection to baby before birth.
✔️Infant RSV antibody shot → delivers stronger, longer protection after birth.

Current data shows direct infant antibodies are more effective than maternal vaccination, especially for preterm babies.

Bottom line: Both are safe and protective — but infant antibodies give that extra edge. 👶🏻

👉 And here’s the good news: We have RSV antibodies available right here in our office! 🙌🏻✈️🩵

How does RSV spread from one person to
another?🦠

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is highly contagious and passes easily in everyday settings. It spreads mainly through:

• Direct contact - touching someone who has RSV, like kissing a child's face.
• Droplets in the air - when an infected person coughs or sneezes, tiny droplets carrying the virus can enter another person's nose, mouth, or eyes.
• Contaminated surfaces - RSV can survive for hours on toys, tables, or doorknobs.
Touching these and then rubbing your eyes or nose can lead to infection.
• Close environments - places like daycare centers or crowded households make it easier for RSV to move quickly between children and adults.

Babies and young children are especially vulnerable because their immune systems are still developing.

Prevention tip: Regular handwashing, disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding close contact with sick individuals are simple but powerful ways to reduce RSV transmission.

Protect your little one! awareness + prevention = safety! 🩵✈️

How to Get Protected from RSV??

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) can look like a simple cold but may cause serious illness, especially in infants, older adults, and those at higher risk.

✨ Prevention Tips:

1. Wash hands often 🧼
2. Avoid close contact with sick individuals 🤧
3. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces 🧽
4. Practice good cough etiquette 😷

Monoclonal Antibody Injection 💉
This preventive treatment is given to infants and young children at high risk. It helps their immune system fight RSV and lowers the chance of severe illness.

Protection for Pregnant Women (32–36 weeks)🤰
Pregnant women can receive an RSV vaccine during weeks 32–36 of pregnancy. This helps their body produce protective antibodies, which are passed to the baby before birth — giving newborns early protection during their most vulnerable first months.

Guess what? We have RSV shots available here in the office. Protect your child and family today!

👉 Call us or visit the office to schedule your shot. Don’t wait — prevention starts now.

Let’s talk about RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) 🦠

RSV is a common virus that spreads in the fall and winter, often looking like a simple cold but it can become serious for babies. It’s the leading cause of infant hospitalizations before immunizations were introduced.

RSV can lead to bronchiolitis or pneumonia, and early symptoms may include:
- Runny Nose
- Less feeding or drinking
- Cough that worsens to wheezing or breathing trouble.

The good news? RSV immunizations can protect babies from getting very sick. 💉

✨ Parents, awareness is the first step and prevention is the next.
