Tiba Foundation Tiba partners with local Kenyan organizations to improve access to health, education & women's empowerment. Tiba champions Matibabu's Boda Girls program.

We partner with local Kenyan health care organizations and provide funding, medical volunteers, and strategic guidance. Boda Girls trains women as motorcycle taxi drivers in rural areas to drive community health, education, and financial empowerment for women. Together, we are empowering and saving lives, and transforming the health care landscape for thousands of locals in rural Kenya.

In just over two years, the FIGS Operating Theatre at Matibabu Foundation Hospital has performed 1,920 surgeries.

Since opening in January 2024, the operating theatre has made it possible for thousands of patients to receive surgical care closer to home, reducing the need to travel long distances for treatment.

This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of Matibabu's surgical team and the generosity of the donors and partners who helped make the theatre possible.

Last month marked an exciting milestone in the fight against cancer in Kenya as the Africa Cancer Foundation (ACF) Mobile Clinic officially launched in partnership with Tiba Foundation and local healthcare partners.

This mobile screening unit is bringing life-saving cancer screening services directly to underserved communities, helping remove barriers to early detection by meeting people where they are. Through this partnership, more women and families will have access to cervical and breast cancer screenings without the burden of traveling long distances.

At Tiba Foundation, we believe that where you live should never determine your access to healthcare. We're honored to support this initiative alongside our partners as we work toward a future where early detection and timely care are within reach for everyone.

For years, Dr. Ram has traveled to Kenya every year, bringing not only his surgical expertise, but also his deep care for the people and communities we serve. As the leader of Tiba’s surgery program, he was instrumental in the construction of Matibabu's new operating theatre and performed the very first surgery there in 2024.

Dr. Ram is a gifted surgeon, compassionate leader, and truly kind person whose commitment to Tiba and the people of Kenya has made an extraordinary impact. We are so grateful for all he continues to give.

Families come into spaces like the Serenity Garden to sit, reflect, and be with what they’ve lost - supported by counselors and a community that understands grief as part of care, not separate from it. These simple, grounded spaces make room for people to mourn in dignity and begin to heal together.
