Today marks a significant moment in the history of Carter Healthcare, as we announce that our home health and hospice operations are now part of VitalCaring Group.

Since 1989, Carter has had the privilege of serving patients and families in the communities where we live and work. Over the years, this organization has grown and changed, but one thing has remained constant: the dedication of the people who come to work every day committed to caring for others.

A transition of this significance is about much more than a change in ownership; it is about the people, patients, families, and communities that have been a part of Carter’s story for more than three decades.

As we considered the future for our home health and hospice operations, we looked for an organization with deep experience in home health and hospice, a commitment to continued growth, and the resources to support the teams, patients, and families connected to this work. We believe VitalCaring is well positioned to build upon the work that has been done by Carter since 1989 and to support our people and the communities we serve.

We are deeply grateful to the patients, families, employees, physicians, referral partners, and communities who have trusted Carter Healthcare throughout the years. Your support has been an important part of our journey, and we are proud of the difference we have made together.

While this marks the end of one chapter, it also opens the door to a new one. We look forward to seeing our people and the communities we serve continue to grow and thrive with VitalCaring. The legacy of Carter lives on through the people, relationships, and impact that have made this organization what it is today.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Karen Stowers. Karen passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, August 19th.

Karen spent nearly 21 years with Carter Healthcare, retiring as Chief Clinical Officer in June of 2025.

During her tenure with Carter, Karen made a lasting impact through her compassion, dedication, and commitment to those in our care as well as to her co-workers. Her years of service represent a meaningful part of our company's history, and she will be remembered fondly by many colleagues, patients, and families whose lives she touched.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all of her former co-workers during this difficult time.

Please keep Karen's family and loved ones in your thoughts. We are grateful for the many years she gave to Carter Healthcare and for the lasting legacy she leaves behind.

Our Clinton, OK, office had a great turnout yesterday for their Customer Appreciation event and Blood Drive, with 15 donors! ❤️

Thanks to Tortas y tacos el Brody and Herbalife Tea & Drink Store for the delicious food and beverages!

Congratulations to LPN Hailey McLain (Woodward, OK), one of our ABCD Award winners for the first quarter of 2026! 🎉

The employee who nominated Hailey for this award said, "No matter the patient, situation, or distance, Hailey will go the extra mile to make sure the patient is seen and has everything they need. Since I started here, every patient that I have seen ... has said how much they just love Hailey, or that they don't know what they would do without her. She not only does her job (she is very good at it by the way), she goes above and beyond her required job; she will assist the patients with showers when they need assistance, pick up prescriptions if they need, and call and check on them frequently on her own time. Hailey is one of the kindest and gentlest nurses I have ever had the pleasure to meet or work with, and I think she deserves this award."

The "Route 66 Suburban" is parked at our Clinton, OK, office! Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the vehicle is a promotional giveaway by radio station 95.5 The Coyote and is touring various local stops in western Oklahoma. 🛣️

Stop by in person Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. now through Tuesday, August 18th, for your chance to win the Suburban! Drawing will be held Wednesday, August 19th.
