There’s a season of life that many women enter without fully realizing what’s happening.

It’s called perimenopause… and it can start as early as your mid-30s.

For some, the changes are subtle. For others, it feels like everything shifts all at once.

You might notice:
✨ Weight showing up in new places
✨ Energy that feels less steady
✨ Sleep that isn’t as deep or restful
✨ A body that just isn’t responding the way it used to

And it’s easy to think… “this must just be my hormones.”

But here’s what I want you to know:

Perimenopause doesn’t break your body.
It reveals what your body has been trying to keep up with for years.

Things like stress, blood sugar swings, inflammation, and a nervous system that hasn’t had much space to slow down suddenly start to matter more.

This is often why weight gain begins during this time.

Not because your body is broken… but because it’s adapting and asking to be supported in a new way.

I’ve been having so many conversations lately with women who feel frustrated with their bodies… and honestly, I get it.

Not because I’ve had it all figured out—but because I’ve spent years walking alongside women who are doing their best, trying all the “right” things, and still feeling stuck.

What I see over and over again is this quiet belief:
“Maybe it’s just me… maybe my body is just harder now.”

And that’s the part I wish I could gently undo for every woman.

Because what’s actually happening is so much deeper.

Midlife doesn’t break your body… it reveals what your body has been trying to keep up with for years—stress, blood sugar swings, inflammation, lack of rest, and a nervous system that rarely gets a chance to slow down.

When you start to understand that, everything begins to shift.
Not overnight… but in a way that finally makes sense.

I am not concerned about the unresolved trauma you have healed - but the unresolved trauma becomes your biology and your menopause experience.

The more stored survival stress in your nervous system, the harder this transition hits.

This is why addressing hormones alone will be helpful, but not often.

A mood or sleep medication may be helpful, but it is just a bandaid.

The biology of trauma® will be revealed during menopause.

As I hugged him goodbye, I felt that lump in my throat, the sting of tears. My heart ached knowing life at home would never look quite the same again.

It was uncomfortable.
