🌟 Community Grant Spotlight: Khmer Performing Arts and Culture (KPAC)
Through the generosity of our donors, the Methodist Hospital Foundation is proud to support organizations that strengthen the health and well-being of our community. Our Community Grants Program helps fund local nonprofits that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

This spotlight shines on Khmer Performing Arts and Culture (KPAC), a community-based organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Cambodia.

Through traditional dance, music, and Khmer language instruction, KPAC creates welcoming spaces where individuals of all ages can learn, perform, and connect with their cultural roots. Guided by intergenerational knowledge and community leadership, the organization is helping ensure that Cambodian traditions continue to thrive for future generations.

KPAC provides its programs free of charge, making cultural education accessible to everyone while promoting community health, safety, and inclusion. Their programs include:

🌟 Community Grant Spotlight: Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a safe, nurturing educational environment.

The Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately funded organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for children from under-resourced Philadelphia families. Through need-based, partial scholarships awarded by a random lottery, CSFP helps make quality, tuition-based K–8 education accessible to families who otherwise could not afford it.

Today, more than 6,500 students attend over 150 parochial and private schools through CSFP scholarships. By providing families with greater educational choice, the program helps address longstanding educational disparities while opening doors to brighter futures. CSFP students consistently outperform their public school peers in both math and reading on standardized tests, demonstrating the lasting impact that access to quality education can have on a child's future.

By supporting organizations like Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia, the Methodist Hospital Foundation is helping invest in the next generation of leaders, strengthening families, and building a brighter future for South Philadelphia.

For adults age 50 and older, the Marconi Older Adult Program is much more than a gathering place—it's a vibrant community where friendships flourish, wellness is encouraged, and every day offers new opportunities to learn, connect, and thrive.

Participants enjoy nutritious meals, fitness activities, technology classes, social and recreational events, and community outings that promote both physical and emotional well-being. The program also encourages volunteerism, empowering older adults to stay engaged while giving back to their community.

As one of South Philadelphia's valued community centers, the Marconi Older Adult Program proudly supports the City's poverty reduction initiatives by providing meaningful resources, activities, and connections that help older adults live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

🌟 Community Grant Spotlight: Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia

Since 1979, the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia (CAGP) has provided innovative programs and services for Cambodian, refugee, and immigrant communities throughout the Philadelphia region.

For decades, CAGP has addressed the complex social, health, and educational needs of multiple generations — from preschool-aged children to older adults. Their work directly impacts every age group, helping families access essential services, preserve cultural identity, and build brighter futures.

The mission of CAGP is to improve the quality of life of Cambodian-Americans in Greater Philadelphia through direct service, advocacy, and cultural education. Their vision is to empower Cambodian-Americans to become productive and successful individuals in society at large.

Since 1998, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.5 million in Community Grants to support programs that strengthen our community.

🌟 Community Grant Spotlight: Unity Clinic (ADROP)

For two decades, the Unity Clinic, operated by the Augustinian Defenders of the Rights of the Poor (ADROP), has provided compassionate healthcare to uninsured adults who might otherwise go without essential medical services.

What began in June 2006 with three Nurse Practitioners and a Physician Assistant has grown into a remarkable collaboration among the Villanova School of Nursing, the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, and a dedicated team of healthcare providers, volunteer interpreters, and staff.

The clinic provides acute primary care, management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, phlebotomy, immunizations, and language interpretation services for patients with limited English proficiency. Open Tuesday evenings, the clinic serves adults who are uninsured and not eligible for government healthcare programs.

The impact has been extraordinary:

💙 $5.5 million saved by helping patients avoid unnecessary emergency room visits

Keeping student athletes in the game—for life.

A program of Thomas Jefferson University, the Athlete Health Organization is a volunteer-driven initiative dedicated to providing FREE comprehensive health screenings and health education to student athletes in underserved communities.

Through annual screening events and customized in-school programs, the organization has provided more than 10,000 free health screenings to student athletes throughout the Philadelphia region. These lifesaving screenings have identified serious, previously undiagnosed medical conditions, helping protect young athletes while giving families peace of mind.
