Thank you for joining us! Pizza and the Basics continues June 17.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Pizza and the Basics! We’re grateful for the questions, conversation, and community that showed up for our first HIV 101 workshop. Together, we created space to talk about HIV today, U=U, prevention, treatment, and the myths we can help leave behind.

And we’re just getting started. Pizza and the Basics will continue every third Wednesday evening of the month, with the next workshop happening on June 17.

Whether you joined us this time, wanted to come but couldn’t make it, or know someone who could benefit from a welcoming, stigma-free HIV education space, we’d love to see you at the next one.

Free pizza. Good information. Better conversations. No judgment.

Save the date: June 17. RSVP: https://bit.ly/pizzaandthebasics

Established Prisma patient and need routine HIV/STI testing?

Express Testing is now available for eligible established patients who need a shorter testing-focused appointment. This 30-minute visit is designed for patients who are already familiar with Prisma’s Prevention services and do not need a full sexual health education visit at that time.

Express Testing is available by appointment only and is not a walk-in service.

New to Prisma or have questions about HIV, STIs, PrEP, PEP, or sexual health? Our Full Testing appointments are still available and give you more time with our Prevention team.

Call 602.307.5330 to request an appointment . Learn more about what to expect at a free testing appointment: https://prismacare.org/testing/

Join us in congratulating Hayley Joseph Chu, LCSW, on stepping into her new role as Prisma’s Clinical Director of Mental Wellness. With a strong background in integrated care and a deep commitment to LGBTQIA+ communities, Hayley brings both expertise and authenticity to this work, helping create space for healing, growth, and connection across our community.

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on the importance of accessible, affirming mental health care for everyone. We’re proud to continue that conversation with insights from our team, including a perspective from Casey, our Chief Clinical Programs Officer, on what mental wellness can look like in practice:

Mental health care is no longer something that sits on the sidelines of primary care, it is central to it.

Every day, we are seeing how closely mental wellness is tied to overall health. Patients are navigating stress, trauma, and life transitions that directly impact their physical well-being. They are not looking for fragmented services, they are looking
for care that is connected, responsive, and human.

At Prisma Community Care, this is shaping how we grow.

I am excited to welcome Hayley Joseph Chu, LCSW, as our Clinical Director of Mental Wellness, a role that reflects our commitment to fully integrating behavioral health into the patient experience. Hayley brings deep expertise in community-based care
and a strong track record of building and leading integrated teams across diverse settings.

What makes her leadership especially meaningful in this moment is her ability to meet people where they are. Her work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, her trauma-informed approach, and her belief in therapy as a true partnership all align with
how we want patients to experience care at Prisma Community Care.

With Hayley’s leadership, we have an opportunity to expand access to mental health services, strengthen integration, and deliver more holistic care to every patient we serve.

This is an important step forward, and I’m excited for what we will build together.

-Casey Simon

National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a reminder that HIV awareness must include everyone.

Asian and Pacific Islander communities are often left out of the conversation due to stigma and lack of culturally competent care. Those barriers can make it harder to access testing and treatment.

At Prisma, we believe care should meet you where you are. That means offering stigma-free HIV testing, PrEP, and ongoing support in a space that respects your identity, your culture, and your lived experiences.

If it’s been a while, or if you’ve never been tested, we’re here when you’re ready. Book a visit today at prismacare.org/appointment
