How does Chinese medicine view autoimmune disease?

It isn’t simply considered a “weak immune system.” Chinese medicine sees it more as a loss of proper regulation: the body’s defenses become overactive or misdirected while underlying constitutional deficiencies make it harder to restore balance.

This is why two people with the same autoimmune diagnosis may receive very different treatments. Chinese medicine treats the individual pattern and works best as supportive care alongside appropriate medical treatment.
