Memorial Day

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage and dedication. We also recognize the strength and resilience of the families and communities who carry their legacy forward.

This Memorial Day, we reflect, remember, and give thanks. ❤️🤍💙

Stroke Awareness Month

Every minute matters when it comes to stroke. Recognizing the signs quickly can save a life and improve recovery outcomes.

Remember FAST:
F – Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S – Speech difficulty
T – Time to call 911

Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability, but recovery is possible with the right care and support.

📣How Physical Therapy Helps After a Stroke

Recovering from a stroke is a journey and you don’t have to go through it alone.

Physical therapy plays a vital role in helping stroke survivors regain independence and improve quality of life. Here’s how:

✅Restore Movement – Rebuild strength and coordination in affected muscles
✅Improve Balance – Reduce fall risk and increase stability
✅Retrain the Brain & Body – Promote neuroplasticity to relearn everyday movements
✅Enhance Mobility – Safely return to walking and daily activities
✅Build Confidence – Gain the skills needed to live more independently

With the right support, progress is possible one step at a time.💙

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

To the moms who are always in motion. From early mornings to late nights, from caring for little ones to supporting grown kids. You do it all with strength, patience, and heart. The lifting, the chasing, the comforting, the constant showing up it matters, even when it goes unseen.

Today is about you. The caregivers, the multitaskers, the resilient moms who keep everything moving forward.

We hope you find a moment to slow down, breathe, and take care of yourself, too. You’ve earned it.

Wishing you a day filled with appreciation, ease, and a little extra rest 🤍

🌍 Happy Earth Day from all of us at Fox Chapel Physical Therapy!

Today is a great reminder that caring for our planet goes hand-in-hand with caring for our bodies. Just like the Earth, our health thrives when we nurture it with movement, balance, and mindful habits.

This Earth Day, we encourage you to:
🌱 Take your workout outside and enjoy some fresh air
🚶‍♂️ Walk or bike instead of driving when you can
🧘‍♀️ Stretch, move, and appreciate what your body can do
♻️ Make small eco-friendly choices that add up over time

Let’s take care of ourselves and our planet together. 🌎✨

According to the American Heart Association, adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week, 75 minutes of vigorous activity, or a combination of both—ideally spread throughout the week. ❤

At Fox Chapel Physical Therapy, we believe movement is medicine. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or working toward a healthier lifestyle, regular exercise plays a key role in keeping your body strong, resilient, and functioning at its best. 💪

🌿 Happy National Garden Day!

Just like a garden, your body thrives with the right care, consistency, and a little patience. Whether you're planting seeds, pulling weeds, or simply enjoying the sunshine, staying active is key to keeping your body pain-free.

At our clinic, we help you “grow” stronger, move better, and get back to doing what you love—inside and outside the garden. 🌞

Elbow and shoulder injuries are common in racquet sports—but it’s not just about stretching.

Stretching helps you get loose and ready to move, but strength is what truly protects your joints and boosts performance.

If your muscles aren’t strong enough to handle the repeated force of swings, your body takes the hit—leading to overuse injuries and breakdown over time.

The key? Train for both:
✔️ Dynamic stretching to prepare
✔️ Strength work to stabilize and protect

Strong, controlled movement beats flexibility alone—every time.
