This weekend, I made 16 year old Ashlee proud. That's me at 16 in the first photo, doing my "senior project" in 11th grade because I was a super nerd. I ended up skipping my 12th grade year, though I still had to walk for graduation at both Penn Hills and Wesley. I did a duel enrollment program with CCAC and went to college at 17. I wasn't done learning. I went on to gain my diploma and associates at PIMS. I gained certification as a cremation operator in all of North America and practiced the embalming trade as well.

Through it all, I missed piercing full time.

So I went back.

Full force. Full time. And nothing was going to stop me.

This weekend, everything came full circle for me. I pierced a client with a piece of jewelry I designed and created with the help of my friend king reld.

Something, I made. In my head. And doodled with pencil and paper. And turned it into gold. Quite literally.

Fu***ng magical.

Months ago, I approached King Reld with my designs and asked if they would collaborate with me. And together, we did just that.

Someone believed in me.

And time and time again, yinz do.

Thank you.
