September is 𝗜𝗧𝗣 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵—an opportunity to shine a light on immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a rare autoimmune bleeding disorder that affects the body’s ability to maintain a healthy platelet count.

From unexplained bruising and frequent nosebleeds to petechiae and prolonged bleeding, recognizing the signs of ITP is an important first step. Treatment looks different for every patient and may include options such as immunoglobulin (IG) therapy.
