Hot flashes? Perimenopause.
Brain fog? Perimenopause.
Bloating? Perimenopause.
Fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep, weight changes? Perimenopause.

Maybe. 🤔

But symptoms alone don’t always tell us WHY you’re feeling the way you do.

→ What if some of that fatigue is also connected to low iron or mineral status?

→ What if the bloating is coming from your gut?

→ What if constipation, fatigue + hair changes warrant a closer look at your thyroid?

And what are your hormones actually doing within the bigger picture?

This is why I love functional testing alongside conventional labs + your clinical history. 🔬

For hormones, I may use DUTCH testing to look at:

✓ Estrogen + progesterone patterns
✓ Androgen metabolites
✓ Cortisol patterns
✓ How estrogen is being metabolized

For example, we can look at the relative activity of the 2-OH, 4-OH + 16-OH estrogen pathways and methylated estrogen metabolites.

One DUTCH result doesn’t decide whether you “can” or “can’t” use HRT.

It gives us more information to personalize the conversation — while also asking whether your gut, thyroid, nutrient + mineral status, stress physiology or other systems deserve attention.

Because perimenopause isn’t a reason to stop investigating your symptoms.

TEST. DON’T GUESS. 🔬

I thought I was creating a nervous system course for my clients.

Turns out, I might be creating it for myself, too.

This week reminded me of something I know but apparently still need to practice:

Healing isn’t never getting activated.
⬇️
It’s noticing sooner.
Recognizing the pattern.
Taking the next right step.
And learning how to “shift”.

Back to safety.
Back to trust.
Back to the present moment.

After years of chronic pain, complex symptoms, healing work, and learning about the nervous system, I still have moments where my brain goes straight into SOLVE IT NOW AND PANIC mode 🧐😳🤯

And maybe that doesn’t mean the work hasn’t worked.

Maybe this is the work.

If you’ve been working on your health for years and sometimes wonder, “I’ve tried everything.”
“Why am I still dealing with this?”

THIS is for YOU!

👍🏼Like this if it resonated.

And drop a 💜 the comments if you’ve ever caught yourself:
➡️ thinking about symptoms
➡️ anticipating symptoms
➡️ researching or doom scrolling
➡️ obsessive over food
➡️ wondering whether something caused a reaction

Low stomach acid can look like a LOT more than just digestive discomfort.

Here are 10 clues it could be part of the picture:

1. Reflux or heartburn
2. Bloating 1–2 hours after eating
3. Frequent burping after meals
4. Feeling like food just sits in your stomach
5. Getting full quickly or staying full for hours
6. Meat and protein feel heavy or difficult to digest
7. Undigested food in your stool
8. Low iron, ferritin, B12 or other nutrient deficiencies
9. Constipation or sluggish digestion
10. Little to no appetite in the morning

And here’s the connection people often miss:

Your stomach is the first major step in breaking down your food and accessing the nutrients inside it.

When stomach acid is low, protein digestion can suffer, nutrient absorption can be affected, and the environment that normally helps keep incoming microbes in check changes.

Over time, that can contribute to nutrient and mineral imbalances, microbial overgrowth and downstream digestive dysfunction — which may show up as bloating, constipation AND fatigue.

And if you’ve been prescribed a PPI for reflux?

PPIs intentionally suppress stomach acid. They can absolutely have an appropriate place in treatment, but longer-term use has also been associated with certain nutrient deficiencies and changes in the gut microbiome.

So if you’re suppressing acid but no one has asked WHY you developed reflux in the first place, there may be more to investigate.

Low stomach acid isn’t the only possible explanation for these symptoms — which is exactly why I prefer to test instead of guess.

If you’ve spent years trying different diets, supplements and protocols for bloating, fatigue and brain fog… but still don’t feel like yourself, it may be time to stop guessing.

Because these symptoms may seem unrelated, but they can be clues pointing us toward the same underlying dysfunctions.

We actually use that data 📝📉

I’m not running Advanced Functional Labs just to hand you a list of abnormalities.

✔️ We investigate what may be contributing to your symptoms
✔️ We connect the patterns between your gut, hormones, minerals + metabolism
✔️ We identify what needs support first
✔️ We create a personalized protocol based on YOUR results

Because when you’re dealing with multiple symptoms, adding another random supplement can just keep you spinning your wheels 🙄

🌟If you’re struggling with bloating, fatigue, brain fog or other symptoms no one seems to be able to connect and want to know the EXACT functional labs I use with women to investigate what may be happening underneath them, comment ➡️LABS and I’ll send you my free guide.
