It was a great day of conversations, connecting with people in the community, and coming together around our shared goal of making it SAFER FOR ALL.

Tomorrow, Thursday August 20th from 10am to 4pm come visit us at the Clallam County Fair located under the Grandstands.

This event is designed to provide individuals who experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, their families, and support networks an opportunity to connect with First Responders in a safe, welcoming, and fun environment while exploring local resources and support services.

We’re excited to share a new Project SAFER video! 💙

This video explains the core of what Project SAFER is and walks through how to complete the Project SAFER Response Form. The Response Form is designed for individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing an important way to share information for First Responders to help support their safety and well-being.

We hope this video makes the process easy to understand and helps individuals, families, caregivers, and community members learn more about Project SAFER.

Project SAFER has a Response Form available for individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities which can provide important information to improve interactions and outcomes with First Responders. This information will be shared with First Responders—such as Police, Fire and EMS—so they are better equipped to provide the right support during an encounter.

The Clallam County Fair is happening August 20–23, and we're excited that the Clallam County Fair is offering sensory-friendly spaces (Open Gates - A Sensory Accommodative Initiative) throughout the fairgrounds to help make the fair a welcoming experience for everyone!

đź’™ Open Gates Sensory-Friendly Spaces will be available to provide:
âś… Quiet places to take a break from the sights and sounds of the Fair
âś… Sensory support bags
âś… Sensory Inclusive Trailer - Daily from 9am-12pm
âś… A welcoming environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families/support/caregivers

📍 Check out the fair map to find sensory-friendly resources, accessible restrooms, and other accessibility features located throughout the grounds.

Everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the fair. Whether you're coming for the rides, animals, exhibits, food, or entertainment, we're here to help make your visit comfortable, accessible, and fun.
