Revision breast surgery is about far more than simply exchanging implants.

In this patient's before photos, implant malposition caused the breasts to sit unevenly, with the implants settling too low and creating significant asymmetry. The previous scar on her left breast was also large, highly visible and poorly positioned outside the natural breast crease—drawing even more attention to the imbalance.

To restore a more centered, symmetrical breast shape, Dr. Vinyard performed a Breast Makeover Revision that included:

✨ Breast implant exchange
✨ Breast implant pocket position change
✨ Silicone gel breast implants
✨ Breast lift

Correcting implant malposition requires surgically revising and reinforcing the internal implant pockets so the new implants are properly supported and remain in a more ideal position.

Implant selection was equally important. Choosing the correct implant is not simply about selecting a larger or smaller size—the implant’s width, volume and profile must complement the patient’s chest dimensions, natural breast tissue and desired shape. The right combination created more balanced projection, improved upper-pole fullness and a proportionate result that fits her frame beautifully.

Her breast lift reshaped the surrounding tissue, improved ni**le position and allowed the incisions to be placed more strategically within the natural breast contours. Although the new scars are still healing in these photos, the previously large and conspicuous scar is no longer sitting prominently outside the breast fold.

Breast revision surgery is often significantly more complex than an initial augmentation. The surgeon must work with altered anatomy, scar tissue, stretched or weakened tissue and an existing pocket that may require extensive reconstruction. This is where Dr. Vinyard’s fellowship training in Cosmetic Breast Surgery—and his advanced experience with complex breast revisions—makes a meaningful difference.

A beautiful revision result requires more than new implants. It requires rebuilding the foundation that supports them.
