Don’t Panic—Medicare Part D Isn’t Going Away.

There has been a lot of misleading information circulating about Medicare Part D drug coverage. Here’s what you need to know:

Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage is NOT ending.

The discussion is about a temporary federal subsidy that was put in place to help insurance carriers offset the increased costs associated with eliminating the Medicare Part D coverage gap (the “donut hole”). That subsidy was originally expected to continue through 2028 but is now scheduled to end one year earlier.

At this time, we do not know what 2027 Part D plans or premiums will look like. Carriers have not released their 2027 plan details, so any predictions you may be hearing are simply speculation.

During Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7), we’ll review your prescription drug coverage together and discuss your 2027 options once the official plan information is available and we’re permitted to discuss next year’s plans.

For now, there is no reason to worry about losing your Medicare prescription drug coverage. Much of what is being reported in the media lacks important context and can create unnecessary concern.

Beginning July 1, the new Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program may significantly reduce the cost of these medications—potentially to as little as a $50 monthly copay for those who qualify.

Here’s how it works:
✅ Schedule an appointment with your physician.

✅ Your doctor will determine if you meet the program’s eligibility requirements.

✅ If eligible, your physician will submit your application to the Bridge Program’s central processor for approval.

✅ Once approved, you’ll pay just a $50 monthly copay for covered medications.
If you’re on Medicare and have been worried about the cost of GLP-1 medications, this new program could make treatment much more affordable. Talk with your physician to see if you qualify.

Be aware of scams, anyone that is reaching out to you that you haven’t contacted first does not have your best interest at heart. And can sell you plans that may not fully meet your needs without a proper assessment.

Using a local broker is always your best option and no additional cost to you.
