Shoulder pain?

The problem isn’t always the shoulder.

Try the movement in this video, then lift your arm.

If your shoulder changes—even a little—that’s useful information. Your neck or upper back may be contributing to your symptoms.

A change in your symptoms is a clue. Understanding those clues helps us determine what to do next.

The problem may not be your shoulder alone.

Try the movement in this video, then lift your arm again.

Gardening today in 90+ degree heat was a great reminder: don’t stay bent over too long!

Every 15–20 minutes, stand up, stretch, and hydrate before getting back to work.

Your garden—and your back—will thank you.

I’ve got a confession… even chiropractors catch themselves bending the wrong way in the garden. šŸ˜…

The problem isn’t usually bending once—it’s staying bent over for minutes at a time while pulling weeds or picking vegetables.

A simple fix? Change positions often. Kneel when you can, use a garden stool or kneeling pad, and stand up every 15–20 minutes to give your back a break.

Small changes like these can help you spend more time enjoying your garden and less time dealing with back pain afterward.

🌱 Follow for more back-friendly gardening tips.

What if your MRI doesn’t explain your pain?

After 25 years of treating back pain, neck pain, and sciatica, I’ve learned that the MRI is only part of the story.

An MRI shows anatomy.

It doesn’t tell me how your body moves, what positions make you better, or what movements make you worse.

That’s why I don’t treat MRIs.

I treat people.

Your pain has a pattern. When we find the pattern, we often find the solution.

What if the way you move is the reason your pain keeps showing up?

Your pain changes when you move.

That matters.

The way your symptoms respond to sitting, standing, bending, and walking can provide important clues.

That’s why we start with movement.
