So, what is an OTR in occupational therapy? An OTR (Occupational Therapist, Registered) is a licensed professional trained to help individuals regain the skills needed for daily living — from fine motor tasks and self-care to cognitive strategies after injury or illness. Our OTR occupational therapy team works with people across the lifespan, helping them reclaim independence in the moments that matter most.

🤝 We had a wonderful time at the Prince George Vendor Resource Day: Bridging Connections! on Tuesday, August 11th.
Hosted by the Prince George County Office of Children's Services (CSA), this event brought together CPMT & FAPT members, DSS, Court Services, CSB, and school staff engaged in the FAPT process — creating a great opportunity to network with colleagues, community partners, and providers, all working to strengthen resources for local youth and families.

We loved connecting with attendees and sharing more about Hansel Union's services, including:

🙌 What a great day at the 3rd Annual West Virginia Disability Resource Fair on August 5th!

We were honored to connect with so many incredible organizations and service providers from across West Virginia — all dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. From employment and financial education to Social Security benefits, legal assistance, independent living, and home & community-based services, this event brought together an amazing network of resources for our community.

🌊 We're proud to support Surfers Healing in Virginia Beach this 14 & 15 of August!

Surfers Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz after their son Isaiah, diagnosed with autism at age three, found unexpected calm in the ocean. As a former competitive surfer, Israel had an idea: put Isaiah on the front of the board, and surf together. The impact was profound — and a movement was born. Today, Surfers Healing brings the joy and therapy of surfing to children with autism and their families all over the country.

Year after year, this event has been called one of the most touching and inspirational experiences by the families and locals who attend — made possible by an incredible community of partners, sponsors, and volunteers.
