April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month 💙🥊

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement, often causing tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination.

Chuck generously donated a punching bag to our office, giving us the opportunity to incorporate coordination and boxing-based training into our patients’ care. Boxing has been shown to provide powerful benefits for individuals with Parkinson’s—improving balance, coordination, strength, and confidence.

To make things even more fun (and motivating 😄), we added a few familiar faces from our staff to the bag to encourage patients to really give it their all!

We’re proud to continue finding creative, engaging ways to support our patients on their journey. 💪

After completing our specialized balance program, Ruth improved all of her scores and is now at a much lower risk for falls—giving her more confidence to stay active and independent.
