These 2 adorable bunnies visited RRVC for their annual wellness exams! 💚

🐇 What happens at a rabbit wellness visit?

A wellness exam often includes assessing body condition, examining the eyes and ears, evaluating the teeth, listening to the heart and lungs, checking for signs of discomfort or disease, and discussing nutrition and daily care.

Rabbits instinctively hide signs of illness, so routine checkups are important for identifying potential concerns before they become more serious.

Both of these bunnies are hoppy, healthy, and very well loved by their people! 🐰💚

What better way to brighten up these rainy days than with an armful of cuddly Cavalier puppies?! 🐶❤️🌦

🐾 Welcome Poppy to the RRVC family! 💜

Poppy loves to play with her Snuggle Puppy toy and her best furriend, Piper 🐶! Peanut butter and bananas are her favorite snacks.🍌 This golden girl was too busy enjoying cuddles and tasty treats to be bothered by pokes from her vaccines or the nail trims during her puppy pedicure. 🐾💕

Gentle handling from an early age can help puppies become more comfortable with nail trims, ear checks, examinations, and other routine care as they grow. Patience, praise, and tasty treats help make it a positive learning experience! 💜🐶

🚨 RABIES ALERT 🚨
Lanesboro, MN

The Minnesota Department of Health has issued a notice that a bat found near Lanesboro Elementary School on August 5th, 2026 has tested positive for rabies.

If you, your child, or your pet had direct physical contact with this bat, please seek rabies risk assessment right away as recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health.

Bat bites can be very small and may go unnoticed, so any possible physical contact with a bat should be taken seriously. Rabies is a zoonotic disease, meaning it can spread between animals and humans. Once symptoms develop, rabies is almost always fatal.

Bats and skunks are the most common wild animals to test positive for rabies in Minnesota, but other wildlife and domestic animals can carry rabies and have tested positive as well.

🐾 Reminder for Pet Owners:
✔️ Make sure your pets are up to date on rabies vaccinations.
✔️ Keep pets away from wildlife and other animals that may carry rabies.
✔️ If your pet may have had contact with a bat, skunk, or other potentially rabid animal, contact your veterinarian and the Minnesota Department of Health promptly for guidance.

Please share this post with friends, family, and neighbors in the Lanesboro area so they are aware.
