Two years ago, I stood in front of my church wearing a blue shirt that said:

I HAVE DECIDED. 🤍

I had decided to be baptized.

I was raised Catholic, and I’m so thankful for the faith my family gave me. I always believed in God.

But I didn’t really know Jesus.

After my divorce, I found myself at the very bottom. I started praying. I started going to church. I started seeking.

Then in 2017, while I was in Maine on a nursing contract, I heard a phrase on the radio:

“First, love yourself.”

And something clicked💡

I needed to learn to love myself—and to know Jesus—before I could expect someone else to fill those spaces.

Not long after, I found an online fitness community of women who were faith-based. Through them, I learned a different way to seek Him.

I could choose doubt…or I could choose trust.

I could believe God was punishing me…or I could believe He loved me.

I could assume there was nothing good ahead…or I could trust that goodness could still be in store for me.

I chose.
I believed.
I trusted.

And that’s when I knew.

I had decided.

I don’t have pictures from my baptism, and for a while I wished I did.

But I realized I don’t need a picture of that day to remember what it meant.

And then this last week, I found the shirt. 🥹

So today, on Baptism Sunday, I put it on again.

And I opened my Bible to Isaiah 41:

“Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.”

As I watched other people walk into that same water and make their own decision, I stood there thinking about the girl in that blue shirt two years ago…

She didn’t know everything that was still ahead.

She didn’t know how much she would still have to learn about trust.

She didn’t know all the rebuilding, stretching, growing and becoming that was still ahead.

But she knew Who she wanted to walk through it with.

I HAVE DECIDED.

And two years later, I would choose Him again.

Same decision. Deeper faith. 🤍➕

28:10. 😳🙌🏻🏃🏼‍♀️

I. CRUSHED. IT. 😂

Last year, I ran a 5K in September in around 33 minutes. I ran that one with my best friend and another friend of hers, and we had such a fun time doing it together.

This year? 28:10.

And I’m pretty dang proud of that girl. 🥹

But what made this one especially sweet was having a goal together.

My girl Izzy, another Barre instructor, and I decided we were going for the same goal: 9–10 minute miles.

And we DID IT. 🙌🏻

At some point before the race, I realized…

“Actually, yeah. I do have a goal!”

And I said it out loud.

Izzy asked what pace I was going for and said, “I’m with you.”

🥹🫶🏻

And that got me thinking about something I’ve been learning again about myself lately:

Community REALLY matters to me.

I’ve been doing fitness alongside other people since 2018. That’s actually when I got some of my best physical results—not because I suddenly knew more about fitness, but because I had people beside me.

There was community.
There was accountability.
There was leadership.
There were people expecting me to show up.

Then that season changed, and somewhere along the way, I got really used to relying on myself again.

I’m realizing that I don’t need more willpower.

I need the right environment.

The right people.
The right accountability.
The right routines.
People who challenge me and cheer for me.

That’s what this season at Barre—and my fitness challenge at the gym—has been giving me again.

And my heart is SO full. 🫶🏻

THIS IS part of Becoming Again, too…

Sometimes becoming something different means changing the way you do things.

Not because what you were doing before was wrong.

But because the woman you’re becoming now may need something different.

And sometimes the strongest thing you can do, is say:

“Actually, yeah. I do have a goal.”

And then find someone who says,

“I’m with you.” 🤍🏃🏼‍♀️

28:10.

Stronger than last year.

Surrounded by good people.

And really grateful for this season. 🫶🏻

Four years. 🏡🤍

Four years ago, I bought this little condo—the first home I had ever owned on my own after my divorce.

At the time, I don’t think I realized just how significant that was.

And then, shortly after I moved in, life took another unexpected turn. I lost my job and had absolutely no idea what was coming next.

But God did.

I trusted Him through it, even when I couldn’t see the whole picture.

And somehow…four years later, I’m still here.

In this home.
Still standing.
Still growing.
Still becoming.

And I’ve realized something about myself over these four years:

It takes me a while to really make a place mine.

Maybe that’s partly because I spent so many years as a travel nurse, moving from one home to another. You learn how to settle in quickly, make a space functional, and eventually pack it all back up and go.

Maybe I just got used to things feeling temporary.

But I’m realizing I’m ready for something different now.

Little by little, I’ve been making this place mine.

The basement became my workout space.
I upgraded the bathroom.
I’m redoing my bedroom now.
And this fall and winter, I’m finally going to tackle the painting and all the little things that will make this place feel even more like home.

But maybe the biggest change isn’t what I’ve done to the condo.

It’s what has happened to ME while I’ve been here.

This home has held some of the hardest seasons, sweetest memories, biggest changes, quiet prayers, tears, laughter, healing and growth.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve realized that I don’t want everything in my life to feel temporary anymore.

I want to settle in.

I want to put down roots.

I want to make things mine.

I want to build a life that feels like home.

And maybe that’s part of becoming again, too.

Not going backward.
Not trying to recreate who I used to be.

But trusting God with what’s ahead and allowing myself to become the woman He’s creating me to be.

Four years here.

And I think I’m finally home. 🤍🏡

For months I’ve felt God nudging me toward something I couldn’t quite put words to.

I kept thinking I needed a plan.

A logo.

A group.

A strategy.

But this week I realized…

Maybe what God was asking for wasn’t a perfect plan.

Maybe He was asking for my yes.

So…hi. 👋

This is Becoming Again.

A place for women who want to grow stronger in body, rooted in faith, and become who God is calling them to be—one faithful step at a time.

I’m so glad you’re here.

xoxo,
Kristen 🤟🏻🩷

Happy Mother’s Day to the heart of our family 💐

Keeping our little tradition alive — homemade breakfast & flower shopping with our mom. Simple moments that mean so much.

This past year has brought a lot, and through it all, she’s been the glue holding us together with love, strength, and endless care for everyone around her. We are so lucky to call her ours 🫶🏻

And today (and everyday) we celebrate HER 🩷

Becoming > staying the same.

Stepping out of my comfort zone has looked a lot like stepping back into myself lately.

Life has been shifting, and in the middle of it, I’ve been seeking opportunities for growth—mentally, physically, and spiritually. Re-laying my foundation, one routine, one choice, one prayer at a time.

Tonight, I taught my very first Lift Off Barre class , and wow… it filled my heart in ways I didn’t expect!! Such a vibe, and such a reminder that doing what you love brings you back to who you truly are 🫶🏻

Leaning into the uncomfortable, trusting the process, and finding myself again in the middle of it all 🤍

He is risen 🤍✨➕

Grateful today for love that never fails, grace that covers it all, and new life in every season.

Because of Him, we have hope.
Because of Him, we are made new.

Happy Easter 🌿
