Ladies, if you are over 50 and still eating the same way you did in your 20s or 30s, your body may be asking for something different.
One of the biggest nutrition mistakes women make after 50 is not getting enough protein.
Especially in the morning.
As we age, the body becomes less efficient at turning protein into lean muscle. Add menopause, hormone shifts, stress, and changes in metabolism, and low protein intake can start showing up as:
Low energy.
Muscle loss.
Slower metabolism.
More cravings.
Poor recovery.
Difficulty maintaining lean body mass.
That is why starting your day with protein matters.
Aim for around 30 grams of quality protein at breakfast, ideally within 60 minutes of waking up.
For many women over 50, a daily target may fall somewhere around 90 to 120 grams of protein depending on body size, activity level, and health needs.
The goal is not to cut everything out.
Do not skip meals.
Do not eliminate all carbohydrates.
Do not under-eat.
Start with balanced meals, quality protein, and a smarter plan for the body you have now.
What worked at 25 may not support you at 50.
