Faulkner steps into the role with 22 years of experience at First 5 San Bernardino, most recently serving as interim executive director and, before that, assistant director. Throughout her tenure, she has helped strengthen partnerships and coordinated systems of support that give San Bernardino County’s youngest children and their families the resources they need to be healthy, safe and ready to thrive.

Verified trauma centers must meet essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and the highest level of institutional performance, as outlined in the ACS COT's current manual, “Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.”

A physician is bringing antitrust claims against the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) for what she alleges is a monopoly over the residency application process that's gouging doctors.

Kaitlin Buhrke, DO, a wound care physician* in Phoenix, filed the proposed class-action lawsuit in August, claiming that AAMC's Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) has very little competition and charges applicants too much.

A California bill that would set a statewide sidewalk speed limit and impose new requirements on electric bicycle sellers and manufacturers has made it to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk. Assembly Bill 2346, authored by Assemblymember Lori Wilson, D-Suisun City, directly addresses concerns brought forth by doctors, said Angela Hill, legislative advocate and registered lobbyist with the California Medical Association, which sponsored AB 2346. “A lot of the injuries that our physicians do see do occur in and around sidewalks, crosswalks, and include pedestrians,” Hill said. CMA began engaging with state lawmakers on e-bikes after doctors and other medical professionals continued to see “an alarming increase in severe and traumatic injuries as a result of people riding electric bicycles,” Hill added.
