Yesterday, the citizens of Osceola County made an investment in the future of emergency medical services throughout our community.

On behalf of every member of Osceola County EMS, thank you for your overwhelming support of both the renewal of our Operating Millage and the approval of the new EMS Networking Millage.

Your trust and confidence in our agency means more than words can express. These millages will ensure that we can continue providing reliable, high-quality emergency medical care while also strengthening the partnerships, training, and community programs that help keep our residents safe. From maintaining our readiness to respond 24 hours a day, to expanding CPR education, first aid training, and other community outreach initiatives, your support will have a lasting impact throughout Osceola County.

Tomorrow is Election Day!

When you head to the polls tomorrow, you’ll see two separate millage proposals for Osceola County EMS on your ballot.

🚑 Operating Millage Renewal

This proposal renews the existing operating millage that funds the day-to-day operations of Osceola County EMS. It helps ensure we have the ambulances, equipment, supplies, and highly trained personnel needed to respond when someone calls 911. Simply put, it helps keep our EMS system ready to answer the call, before the pager ever sounds.

🤝 EMS Networking Millage

The second proposal is a new request to support EMS Networking initiatives. High-quality emergency medical care depends on strong partnerships throughout our community. This funding would support interagency collaboration, ongoing training, and regional preparedness efforts. It would also expand community education programs, including CPR training, First Aid courses, and our Infant Safe Sleep education program.

Today marks one year since Osceola County and our local EMS community lost a true friend, leader, educator, and paramedic.

Jenny Edstrom left behind far more than a career in EMS—she left behind a legacy. A legacy of advocacy, compassion, and excellence. She championed the highest standards of patient care, believed deeply in kindness, and tirelessly advocated for her patients, her colleagues, her students, and her family—a family that extended far beyond the walls of any home or EMS station.

Jenny’s influence can still be seen in the providers she mentored, the students she taught, and the countless lives she touched throughout her career. Her dedication helped shape not only individual clinicians, but the culture of EMS in our community.

Her impact on all of us at Osceola County EMS, and on the many agencies and partners who continue to serve our community each day, will never be forgotten.

Today, we honor Jenny’s memory, celebrate the legacy she left behind, and strive to carry forward the compassion, professionalism, and commitment to excellence that she exemplified every day.

You are deeply missed, Jenny. Your dedication and commitment will continue to guide all of us.

🚑 Happy EMS Week from Osceola County EMS! 🚑

This year’s EMS Week theme is “Improving Outcomes. Together.”

At Osceola County EMS, that message reflects the heart of what we do every day. EMS is not just one person, one ambulance, or one call. It is a coordinated effort between EMTs, Paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement, hospital teams, medical control, community partners, and the citizens we serve.

Every response is built on teamwork. Every patient outcome is shaped by preparation, communication, compassion, and clinical excellence.

This week, we proudly recognize the dedicated EMS professionals of Osceola County EMS and our local first response partners who serve our communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From emergency responses and interfacility transports to community education and public health partnerships, our team of dedicated professionals continues to make a difference when it matters most.

To our EMTs, Paramedics, and all who support our mission: thank you for your commitment, professionalism, and dedication to your craft.

It has been a busy few weeks with Osceola County EMS Education🚑

All of our EMT students from out January 2026 cohort have officially graduated from their EMT program and are moving on to take their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Exam. A few of our students have already taken their exams and passed on their first attempt!

These individuals have dedicated hours of studying and hands on skill practice to earn their certificates. We could not be more proud of their growth and success in the program.

Congratulations to all of our graduates, and welcome to the profession. We at Osceola County EMS are honored to have helped guide you along your path to success!

As water levels continue to rise across our area, we strongly urge all residents to take advisories from local emergency services seriously.

With additional rainfall expected, expanding road closures, and ongoing flooding, Osceola County EMS is actively adjusting operations to maintain fast and effective emergency response throughout the county.

First responders - including Evart Area Fire Department, Marion Community Fire Department, Hersey Township Fire and Osceola County Emergency Management—have been working around the clock to keep our communities informed, safe, and prepared.

Please continue to stay alert, follow official guidance, and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
