Are you independentโฆ or have you simply learned not to need anyone? ๐
โIโve got it.โ
โIโll figure it out.โ
โDonโt worry about me.โ
โItโs easier if I just do it myself.โ
If those phrases sound a little TOO familiar, this conversation might be for you.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being strong, capable, and independent. ๐ But when asking for help feels uncomfortableโฆ when receiving support makes you uneasyโฆ or when you would rather carry everything yourself than risk depending on someone else, it may be worth getting curious about why.
Because thereโs a difference between:
โI CAN do this myself.โ
and
โI HAVE to do this myself.โ
That difference matters.
Sometimes the patterns that helped us become incredibly strong are the same patterns that can make it difficult to let other people show up for us.
And maybe growth isn't about becoming less independent.
Maybe it's realizingโฆ
You can be strong AND supported.
Capable AND connected.
Independent AND willing to receive.
So here's your challenge this week:
Let somebody help you. ๐
With the groceries. With the kids. With the problem. With the thing you automatically said, โI've got itโ about.
Because strength isn't only knowing you can do it alone.
Sometimes strength is knowing you don't have to. โจ
Now tell me the truthโฆ ๐
Are you a recovering โI'LL JUST DO IT MYSELFโ person? ๐
