🇺🇸 THE 2.5 LB LABOR DAY WEEKEND RULE 🇺🇸

Enjoy the BBQ. Enjoy the dessert. Enjoy your family. ❤️

But remember: a cheat meal shouldn’t become a cheat weekend!

Our goal? Try to stay within 2.5 lbs of your Friday weight by Monday morning.

And if the scale is up—DON’T PANIC! It’s not necessarily fat. Water, sodium, carbs, digestion, and a change in routine can all affect the scale.

đź’§ Drink your water
🥩 Get back to your meals
🚶🏼 Get your steps
🏋🏼 Resume your workouts
🧠 Don’t stress!

Enjoy Labor Day weekend. Enjoy life. Then get right back on track! 💪🏼

🇺🇸 Healthy mind. Healthy body. Healthy heart. Faith in the Lord. 🙏🏼

đź’Ş TUESDAY TRAINING TALK
DROP SETS vs. PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD

Which one is better?

The answer: it depends on your goal.

🏋🏽 PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD

Progressive overload means gradually asking your body to do more over time.

That can mean:
• Increasing the weight
• Adding reps or sets
• Improving your form and range of motion
• Increasing training volume
• Making an exercise more challenging

This is one of the foundations for getting stronger and building muscle long term.

🔥 DROP SETS

Drop sets are an intensity technique.

You complete your set, reduce the weight, and immediately continue doing more reps with little or no rest.

Example:
50 lbs → 40 lbs → 30 lbs

The goal is to push the muscle further into fatigue and get more work done in a shorter period of time.

SO WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU USE?

For most people, progressive overload should be the foundation of your training.

Drop sets can be a great TOOL to add intensity, especially toward the end of a workout—but doing drop sets on everything doesn’t automatically mean better results.

More pain doesn’t always equal more progress. 💯

A good training program should have a purpose:
Challenge the muscle. Recover. Adapt. Progress.

Don’t just work harder.

Train smarter. 💪🏽

CHEAT MEAL vs. MAKING A BETTER DECISION EATING OUT 🔥

They are NOT the same thing.

🍔 A CHEAT MEAL is when you intentionally step away from your normal eating plan.

Maybe it’s pizza, wings, a burger and fries, dessert, drinks—or whatever you’ve been craving.

You know what it is. You enjoy it. Then you get back on track.

🍽️ MAKING A BETTER DECISION EATING OUT is completely different.

You’re still trying to stay close to your goals—you’re just not eating food you prepared yourself.

That might mean:

âś… Grilled chicken, steak or fish
âś… Rice, potato or vegetables
âś… Asking for no added butter or oil
âś… Light seasoning / less sodium when possible
âś… Sauces, dressings and chile on the side
âś… Watching portions
âś… Choosing water or a zero-calorie drink

Here’s the mistake I see people make:

“I ate out, so I already messed up. I might as well cheat.”

NOPE.

Eating at a restaurant doesn’t automatically make it a cheat meal.

You can go out with your family.
You can enjoy a date night.
You can travel.
You can have a social life.

And STILL make a decision that supports your goals.

The goal isn’t to be perfect.

The goal is learning how to make BETTER decisions in real-life situations.

That’s what makes healthy eating sustainable.

THE 2.5 LB WEEKEND RULE 💪🏼

Enjoy the weekend. Just don’t let one cheat meal turn into a cheat weekend.

After coaching thousands of clients, I’ve seen the same pattern over and over:

Great Monday–Friday ➡️ one cheat meal ➡️ cheat day ➡️ cheat weekend ➡️ panic on Monday.

Here’s a simple guideline I use:

⚖️ Try not to be more than about 2.5 lbs heavier Monday morning than you were Friday morning.

And remember—that increase usually isn’t all body fat. Water retention, sodium, carbs, alcohol, digestion, poor sleep, and being out of your routine can all move the scale.

If Monday comes and you’re up more than you wanted:

❌ Don’t starve yourself
❌ Don’t punish yourself in the gym
❌ Don’t jump on another fad diet

Just get back to the basics:

đź’§ Hydrate
🥩 Prep your meals
🍽️ Control your portions
⏰ Get back on your eating schedule
🚶🏼 Get your steps in
🏋🏼 Get back to your workouts
🧠 And most importantly—DON’T STRESS

You can enjoy a cheat meal. You can have dessert. You can enjoy time with your family.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is learning how to enjoy life without turning one meal into an entire weekend.

The scale is information—not the definition of your health.

🙏🏼 Healthy mind.
💪🏼 Healthy body.
❤️ Healthy heart.
✝️ Faith in the Lord.

That’s how we build a healthier way of living, not just another diet.

Enjoy your weekend—and when it’s time, get right back to your routine. 💪🏼

THURSDAY — A Message From Coach Isaac

I want to remind everyone of something this week:

You don’t have to be perfect to make progress.

I’ve coached people long enough to know that life is going to happen.

Work gets busy.
Kids need you.
You miss a workout.
You have dinner with friends.
The scale goes up.
Motivation disappears for a few days.

None of those things mean you’ve failed.

What matters is what you do next.

One missed workout doesn’t erase your progress.

One meal doesn’t erase your progress.

One bad weigh-in doesn’t erase your progress.

The goal isn’t to create a life where nothing ever goes wrong.

The goal is to build habits strong enough that when life happens, you know how to get back on track.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep fighting for yourself.

We’re not chasing perfection.

We’re building something we can actually maintain. 💪🏼

WEDNESDAY — What Should You Expect From a Personal Trainer? 💪🏼

Hiring a personal trainer should be more than paying someone to count your reps.

As the consumer, what should you expect?

You should expect someone who:

âś… Has a plan based on YOUR goals.
âś… Teaches you proper form instead of just pushing heavier weight.
âś… Understands your current fitness level and limitations.
✅ Makes adjustments when something hurts or isn’t working.
✅ Challenges you—but doesn’t destroy you every workout.
âś… Tracks progress and changes the plan when needed.
âś… Helps you become more confident and independent in the gym.
âś… Actually pays attention to YOU during your session.

A good trainer isn’t there to prove how hard they can make you work.

They’re there to help you progress safely, consistently, and with purpose.

Ask questions. Understand why you’re doing an exercise. Learn along the way.

Eventually, you shouldn’t just be stronger—you should be more knowledgeable about your own body.

That’s coaching.

TUESDAY — Healthy Is Easier Together ❤️

Eating healthy is hard enough when you’re doing it alone.

But when your spouse, partner, or family is working toward healthier habits with you, everything gets a little easier.

You don’t have to eat the exact same portions or have the exact same goals. One person may be trying to lose weight, another build muscle, and the kids simply need balanced meals.

But you CAN support each other.

🥩 Make protein part of the family meal.
🥔 Build meals around foods everyone can enjoy.
🥗 Keep better choices available at home.
🍽️ Meal prep together when possible.
❤️ Encourage each other instead of policing each other.

And yes—you can still go out to eat, celebrate birthdays, travel, and enjoy life.

Healthy eating shouldn’t separate you from your family. It should become part of how your family lives.

Support makes consistency easier, and consistency is what produces results.
