10 years.

It’s hard to put into words what that number means.

Human Kind Wellness has had the privilege of being invited into thousands of moments that aren’t always easy to talk about.
The moments when someone is grieving.

When a relationship is changing.

When anxiety feels relentless.

When someone is trying to understand their past.

When a parent doesn’t know what to do next.

When someone finally decides, “I can’t keep doing this the way I’ve been doing it.”

And then there are the moments we don’t always get to see from the outside, the quiet ones.

The first boundary.

The first honest conversation.

The first time someone says no without apologizing.

The first time they recognize their own worth.

The first time they realize they don’t have to keep surviving the same way.

That is what 10 years means to us.

Not just a business that has been here for a decade.

A decade of people trusting us with their humanity.

We are incredibly grateful to every client, family, therapist, colleague, and community member who has been part of the Human Kind Wellness story.

Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for growing with us.
And thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you through the messy, complicated, beautiful work of being human.

Here’s to 10 years and everything still ahead.

Back-to-school season can come with a lot of pressure.
Make it exciting.
Make memories.
Get the pictures.
Start the year off right.
Have the routines figured out.
Keep everyone calm.

And underneath all of that can be a much quieter question:
“Am I doing enough for my child?”

If you’re already overwhelmed, you’re not failing.

If your child isn’t excited about school, you’re not failing.

If your mornings are messy, you’re not failing.

If you don’t have the time, money, energy, or capacity to create some picture-perfect back-to-school experience...
you are not failing.

Children don’t need a perfectly curated childhood.

They need connection.
They need to know their feelings are allowed.
They need a safe enough adult who can sit beside them when something feels hard and say,
“We’ll figure this out together.”

And when you lose your patience?
Repair.

When the morning falls apart?
Try again.

When you realize you could have handled something differently?
That’s an opportunity to model something incredibly important:
You can make mistakes and still have a healthy relationship.

So maybe this year, we can take some of the pressure off.
You don’t have to make back-to-school magical.

You just have to show up.
And sometimes, showing up is more than enough.

There comes a point where you stop asking yourself, *”What do I need?”* and start asking, *”Who do I need to be?”*

The dependable one.

The easy-going one.

The one who always says yes.

The one who never asks for much.

The one everyone can count on.

At first, these roles may have helped you feel accepted, loved, or safe. Over time, they can become so familiar that they no longer feel like roles... they feel like your identity.

The difficult part is that when you’re always focused on being what everyone else needs, it’s easy to lose touch with what *you* need.

You become known for your strength, while quietly carrying exhaustion.

You become appreciated, but not always understood.

You become loved for what you do, while wondering if you’d still be loved if you simply showed up as yourself.

Healing isn’t about becoming a different person.

It’s about believing that the parts of you that are tired, imperfect, emotional, uncertain, or in need of support deserve love too.

Because the people who truly belong in your life won’t just love the version of you that’s easiest to love.

They’ll make room for the whole person.

There’s a version of you that the world has come to know.

The dependable one.
The one who always keeps it together.
The one who doesn’t ask for much.
The one who makes other people feel comfortable.

Maybe that version helped you feel accepted.
Maybe it helped you stay safe.
Maybe it became so familiar that you stopped noticing how much energy it takes to maintain.

The question isn’t whether that version of you is real.

The question is:
Is there enough room for the rest of you, too?
The version that’s tired.
The version that has needs.
The version that doesn’t always know the answer.

Healing isn’t about becoming a different person.

It’s about believing you don’t have to hide parts of yourself to deserve connection.

We had such a wonderful time at the SOAR camp hosted by Lakepointe Church!

One of the things we love most about events like these is the opportunity to connect with individuals and families while helping create spaces where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included.

We were honored to offer mindful movement and therapeutic yoga in a way that celebrated accessibility, neurodiversity, and differing abilities. It was a beautiful reminder that movement isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection. Connection to our bodies, our breath, and ourselves.

Yoga and mindful movement can be adapted for all kinds of minds and bodies. Whether someone is neurodivergent, navigating physical challenges, managing stress and anxiety, or simply looking for a way to feel more grounded, there is space for them here.

Thank you to Lakepointe Church for creating such an incredible camp and for allowing us to be a small part of it. We loved meeting so many amazing individuals and families throughout the day.

We left feeling inspired, grateful, and reminded of the power of community.

One of the biggest misconceptions about mental health is that if you’re functioning, you must be doing okay.

But many people are carrying anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, or trauma while still showing up every day.

They go to work.
They parent.
They meet deadlines.
They answer the texts.

And because they’re still functioning, no one sees how hard it actually feels.
Including them.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned that our pain only “counts” if it becomes visible.

But you don’t have to wait until you’re falling apart to deserve support.

Therapy isn’t just for crisis.
It’s also for the people who are tired of surviving and ready to start living.

Trauma doesn’t always announce itself.

Sometimes it disguises itself as personality.

You might think you’re:
• just an overthinker
• just fiercely independent
• just a perfectionist
• just someone who struggles to relax
• just someone who always takes care of everyone else

But sometimes those patterns began as ways to survive difficult experiences.

Our nervous systems are incredibly adaptive.

When we experience chronic stress, emotional neglect, unpredictable environments, or trauma, we often develop strategies that help us feel safe.

The challenge is that those same strategies can continue long after the danger has passed.

Healing isn’t about judging the parts of yourself that protected you.

It’s about understanding them with compassion and gently learning that you don’t have to stay in survival mode forever.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why am I like this?”
Maybe that’s a different question than,
“What helped me survive?”

One of the deepest wounds left by emotionally unhealthy relationships isn’t always heartbreak.

It’s self-doubt.

Over time, you may begin to question your own thoughts, feelings, memories, or instincts. You might find yourself wondering:
“Am I overreacting?”
“Maybe I’m being too sensitive.”
“Can someone tell me if I’m seeing this clearly?”

This can happen in relationships where there’s chronic invalidation, manipulation, emotional abuse, or repeated experiences that cause you to question your own reality. While these experiences are sometimes associated with narcissistic behaviors, they can occur in many unhealthy relationship dynamics.

Healing isn’t only about leaving the relationship.
It’s about rebuilding the relationship you have with yourself.
Learning to trust your intuition again.
Learning to honor your emotions.
Learning that your experiences don’t have to be approved by someone else to be real.

If that’s where you are today, you’re not broken.

You’re rebuilding something incredibly important.
Your trust in yourself.

A lot of people think they’re avoiding people.

But when you look closer…
they’re avoiding how they feel when they’re around them.

The overthinking.
The self-awareness.
The pressure to say the right thing, respond the right way, be perceived a certain way.

It’s not just “socializing.”
It’s managing an internal experience that feels intense and constant.

So of course avoiding it brings relief.

That doesn’t mean you don’t want connection.
It means connection hasn’t felt safe in your body.

And that’s something that can be understood and worked through.
