🌞 HOT WEATHER SAFETY! 🌞

Make sure to take care of yourself on these HOT days of summer.

Our bodies become more vulnerable during exposure to high temperatures. With a greater risk during hot weather, it is important to think about the safety of you and your family when going outdoors.

☀️ Limit your time as much as possible to being outdoors during a
heat advisory
☀️Do not stay in a hot car, which can be 40-60 degrees
(Fahrenheit) higher than being outdoors
☀️Stay hydrated and carry extra water (Avoid dehydrating drinks
like alcohol)
☀️Keep to the shade if possible
☀️If you need to work outdoors, choose the early morning or
evening when the temperatures are cooler.
☀️Protect your skin from the sun
☀️Take frequent breaks in a cooler/shaded area

🌿🕷️ Tick Season Is Here — Be Ready! 🕷️🌿

Warmer weather means more time outdoors… and more ticks. Before you head outside, take a few simple steps to protect yourself and your family:

✅ Wear light-colored clothing to spot ticks easier
✅ Use tick repellent as directed
✅ Stay on trails and avoid tall grass when possible
✅ Check yourself, children, and pets after being outdoors
✅ Shower and wash clothing after outdoor activities

Ticks may be small, but prevention makes a big difference. Whether you're hiking, camping, working outside, or enjoying the backyard, stay aware and stay protected.

⚠️ PARENTS & CAREGIVERS — PLEASE TALK WITH YOUR CHILDREN ⚠️

A reminder to have an important conversation with your children about safety.

🚫 Never take or eat candy, gummies, drinks, or any candy-looking items from unknown sources or without a trusted adult’s approval.

Some products can look like regular candy or snacks but may contain harmful or unsafe substances. Encourage children and teens to:

✅ Only eat treats from trusted sources
✅ Check with a parent or guardian if unsure
✅ Never accept food, candy, or substances from strangers or friends if they do not know exactly what it is
✅ Speak up and ask questions — when in doubt, throw it out

These conversations may feel uncomfortable, but they can make a real difference. Staying informed and aware helps keep our children safe.

Please share to help spread awareness and keep our communities informed. 💙
