Rolette County Public Health District would like to congratulate Renae Henderson, as this year's winner of the ND Immunization Champion Award. The Immunization Champion Award, hosted by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recognizes individuals doing an exemplary job or going above and beyond to promote or foster immunizations in their communities for children and adults. This year, each of the 48 award winners were nominated and selected from a pool of health professionals, community advocates, and other immunization leaders for significantly contributing to public health in their community.
Renae, director of nursing at the Rolette County Public Health District, works tirelessly to bring vaccines directly to the people who need them most, recognizing that transportation, distance, and other barriers can prevent individuals from accessing important preventive care. Whether serving rural communities, underserved populations, or families facing difficult circumstances, she approaches every interaction with kindness, respect, and a genuine desire to improve health outcomes. Renae understands that education and accessibility are key components of successful immunization efforts, and she takes the time to provide accurate, evidence-based information in a way that is approachable and supportive.
“Through her work with her local public health unit, Renae consistently demonstrates compassion, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to improving access to immunizations and reliable health information for individuals and families across her region," Abbi Berg, ND Dept of Health and Human Services, VFC/QI Manager.
