Good news! Advantage Home Care has been approved to participate in a pilot program to offer respite care to family of patients with cognitive challenges.
You may have heard of the GUIDE Model. It is a new program offered by traditional Medicare (i.e. parts A and B) to improve the quality of life for both patients and their family caregivers. By offering respite care, Medicare hopes to lengthen the amount of time dementia patients can safely stay at home.
There is no income limit to qualify.
You can have another third party payor as well. This includes:
Long Term Care insurance
Oregon Project Independence-Medicaid
Veterans Administration H/HHA and Respite programs.
At this time, traditional Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Plans are not included.
You would need an updated assessment with AHC (which we can combine with a quarterly visit) and a virtual assessment with the provider (currently Harmonic Health; more providers to come soon.) It would be best if you have your Medicare ID and the name of the doctor providing the dementia diagnosis. If you do not have a diagnosis, Harmonic Health can set you up with a virtual neurology appointment.
The onboarding process is far easier than what you would expect, and you can know very quickly whether you are approved.
I have now been assigned a portal and can assist you with applying and making your first appointments if you like. Please call me if you would like to make an appointment.
