The emergence of cyan light as a visible expression of photonic absorption.

Could you tell we’re treating pigmentation simply by looking at this image?

Actually, you can.

What appears to be a green room is, in many ways, a visual record of light interacting with living tissue.

During IPL treatment, carefully selected wavelengths are delivered into the skin where chromophores such as melanin and hemoglobin absorb the energy. As those wavelengths are absorbed, the remaining light is scattered and reflected, creating the striking cyan atmosphere visible in this photograph.

The skin is quite literally taking in the light.

This process is known as selective photothermolysis - the foundation of IPL technology. Targeted wavelengths seek out pigment, redness, and sun damage while surrounding tissue remains protected.

At SURĒL, we are endlessly fascinated by the relationship between light, science, and healing.
