June always evokes reflection for me, and this year it is more impactful than others:

💚 I’ve been in business for myself for six months.
💚 I dove into a career change with everything I have.
💚 Although it’s been challenging, after every client call, I’m reminded that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.
💚 I am so grateful to help and be alongside clients as they explore, try, and celebrate becoming healthier.

As these reflections continue, a phrase that’s most front of mind is “embrace the stillness.” As a previous Senior Director, I was go, go, going all the time. Having the ability to stop and check in with myself and my body? Not happening.

👉 Now? I took a 13-minute pause this morning to embrace the stillness. Listen intently. Quiet my mind. Relax my body. Explore the serenity of Yellowstone.

This is all thanks to The Humane Space’s Soundscape to start June off on the best note possible. Tomorrow, I’ll be transported to the symphonies of the Galápagos Islands. ✨

Does your 9-to-5 feel like a 9-to-zero movement? 💻

Having a sedentary work environment poses detrimental health issues such as increased cardiovascular problems, metabolic dysfunction, and can negatively impact our mental health.

Simple strategies to explore:

1️⃣ Add short movement breaks in a way that feels right to you
2️⃣ Try the 20-20-20 Rule, courtesy of the American Optometrist Association
3️⃣ Try exhaling longer than you inhale for a few minutes to wake up your body during the afternoon crash

✋ Remember to ALWAYS listen to your body, especially when trying something new or adding movement to your routine. Consult your primary care doctor before adding anything new to your lifestyle or routine.
