In case you missed it, SAMHSA released results from the 2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), and one message is clear: recovery is common, not rare.

- 22+ million adults say they’re in recovery or recovered from a substance use problem, and about 73% of those who’ve experienced a substance use problem report being recovered or in recovery.
- 44.1 million adults report being in recovery or recovered from a mental health condition (about 70% of those who’ve experienced a mental health problem).
- At the same time, the need is still huge: 47.2 million people needed substance use treatment in 2025, but only 16% received it.

Recovery happens every day, and expanding access to treatment and support services is how we help more people get there. If you need support or want to suppor our efforts, visit https://flagleroars.org/

So glad we could be part of the Volusia IDEA Initiative this morning!

This collaborative community health effort is focused on reducing overdose deaths, connecting individuals to treatment and recovery services, addressing HIV and Hepatitis C, and strengthening public safety through partnership and action.

Proud to be alongside leaders doing the work, including the Volusia Recovery Alliance. Pictured here with Missy, Brittany, and Pam. 💙

A special thank you to the The Bike Men of Flagler County, Inc. for joining this week's School Board meeting to read the proclamation recognizing the importance of bicycle safety and encouraging safe riding throughout our community.
As students head back to school, let's all do our part to keep them safe. Watch for students walking and riding their bikes, slow down in school zones, and help make every trip to and from school a safe one.
Thank you, Bike Men of Flagler County, for your partnership and commitment to our community!

It’s not too late to claim your seat at the table! 📊🗣️

Tomorrow morning, we’re hosting Data to Dialogue—an interactive roundtable designed to turn brand-new statewide data into practical, cross-system action across St. Johns and Flagler Counties!

Supported by DCF-contracted research and Opioid Settlement funding, we’re partnering with the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce at USF to share fresh evaluation data on adult substance use recovery. But this isn't just a presentation—it’s a collaborative working session for county leaders, law enforcement, behavioral health providers, recovery housing operators, and key advocates.

Your perspective matters as we work together to strengthen our local recovery ecosystem!
