Teaching Kids Accountability: Part 2 🌱

Teaching children to use “I” statements is an important part of building accountability. Instead of focusing on what someone else did, phrases like “I made this choice,” “I feel…” or “I could have handled that differently” help kids recognize and take ownership of their own behavior.

In Part 2, Dr. McKenna explains how adults can model this language in everyday life. When we use “I” statements and take responsibility for our own actions, we show children what healthy accountability looks like.
