Today, we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, resilience, and Black history. As we recognize this important moment in American history, we also uplift the voices of Black Autistic individuals and families who continue to navigate systems shaped by inequality. We're committed to advancing equity and supporting a future where all members of the Autism community can thrive.

Today, we recognize the importance of pride for Autistic people and it's role in bringing positive change to society.

The Autism Society of America opposes today’s announcement by the Department of Education to move special education and civil rights enforcement out of the agency. For decades, Congress, across party lines, has kept these programs united under one roof.

Dismantling this system fragments the critical journey from school to employment, putting nearly 1 million autistic students at risk of falling through bureaucratic cracks.
We must protect the rights and futures of our students.
