Sailing is for everyone! Our adaptive sailing program is designed for people with a wide range of disabilities. We offer a variety of adaptive equipment, including handheld joysticks, powered joystick controls, and sip-and-puff systems, so participants can sail independently. Power-assist technology allows sailors to control the boat using a joystick similar to those found on power wheelchairs, while the sip-and-puff system uses breath to steer and control the boat. The Martin 16 that we use is extremely accessible!

We launched the newly named boat 2 "Trade Winds" last week at SDYC after magnificent restoration work by Wally Eaton Infinity Yacht Services. The boat looks absolutely spectacular. Thank you, Wally, and thank you Shanklin Foundation, represented here by Jane Dunn.
