πŸ’™ Grief asks so much of us. It can leave us feeling untethered, heartbroken, and unsure of how to move forward. Yet even in our deepest sorrow, healing is possible when we have space to express what words alone cannot.

I'm honored to present "Moving Through Grief: Where Heartbreak Meets Healing" at the International Expressive Arts Egypt Festival 2026.

✨ What happens when two decades-long practices meet in one creative space?

This October, I'm so grateful to be co-leading The Dance of Art, Body, and Earth with my friend and colleague, Jamie McHugh. While we both come from the Tamalpa lineage, we've each spent decades cultivating our own unique approaches to expressive arts, somatic practice, and creative healing. Opportunities to learn from both of us in one intimate retreat are few and far between.

Together, we'll spend five days immersed in movement, creativity, nature, reflection, and meaningful community at the beautiful Shantigar Foundation in Western Massachusetts.

This retreat is intentionally small so we can create a deeply personal experience for everyone who joins us!

There are collaborations that happen because they're convenient. And then there are collaborations that happen because the timing, the friendship, and the shared vision all align.

This October, I'm honored to be teaching alongside Jamie McHugh for a rare five-day immersion at the beautiful Shantigar Foundation in Western Massachusetts.

Although we both come from the Tamalpa lineage, we've each spent decades evolving our own unique paths in expressive arts, somatic practice, creativity, and healing. Opportunities to learn from two master teachers with shared roots and distinctly different perspectives don't come along very often.

With just 10 participants, this retreat offers an intimate space to explore movement, art-making, nature, reflection, and community in a way that's personal, spacious, and deeply nourishing.

If you've been looking for a retreat that offers more than inspiration, one that invites genuine connection with yourself, your creativity, and the natural world, we'd love to welcome you.

Learn more and reserve your place before the retreat fills, we only have a few spots left: https://www.shantigar.org/arts-immersion

There comes a moment when the question is no longer, "Am I creative enough?" but, "What is asking to be created through me?" ✨

I've found that the greatest shifts don't happen because someone hands us the perfect plan. They happen when we have the courage to listen deeply, stay accountable to our vision, and keep creating even when uncertainty shows up.

Whether you're nurturing a long-held dream, finding your way back after loss or burnout, or longing to bring more meaning into your work, you don't have to do it alone. Sometimes having a compassionate guide beside you is what helps transform hesitation into momentum.

If you're ready to honor your creative voice and give your next project the care it deserves, I'd love to support you. πŸ’› https://art-cures.com/creative-coaching-program/

πŸ‚ Today is the last day for Super Early Bird pricing!

If you've been considering joining Jamie McHugh and me this October for The Dance of Art, Body, and Earth, I hope you'll take this as your sign.

This retreat is a rare opportunity to learn with both of us together as we bring our shared roots in the Tamalpa lineage and our unique approaches to expressive arts, somatic practice, and creative healing into one intimate experience.

Over five nourishing days at the beautiful Shantigar Foundation in Western Massachusetts, we'll slow down, reconnect with ourselves and the natural world, and explore movement, art-making, writing, reflection, and community.

We're intentionally keeping this retreat small, with just 10 participants, so each person has the space to be seen, supported, and fully immersed in the experience.

✨ Super Early Bird pricing ends tonight, July 15th. If this retreat has been calling to you, now is the perfect time to reserve your place before the next pricing tier begins. https://www.somaticexpression.com/classes/Shantigar.html

What if creativity isn't something extra we do, but a way back to ourselves?

I recently had the pleasure of joining Heather Dressell on the HEAR HER Podcast for a heartfelt conversation about addiction, recovery, creativity, and the many ways we disconnect from our authentic selves.

We explored how expressive arts can support healing, why perfectionism often gets in the way of true expression, and how simple creative practices can help us reconnect with our emotions, our bodies, and the present moment.

One of the themes we discussed is that addiction isn't always about substances. Sometimes it's about the countless ways we numb, avoid, distract, or move away from what we're feeling. Creativity offers another path. A gentle invitation to become curious, present, and compassionate with ourselves.

I'm grateful to Heather for creating such a thoughtful space for this conversation.

If you've ever wondered how creativity can support healing, recovery, or personal growth, I hope you'll give it a listen.

There are certain collaborations that only come together once in a great while, and this is one of them.

This October, I'm honored to co-lead The Dance of Art, Body, and Earth with my dear friend and colleague, Jamie McHugh. While we both share roots in the Tamalpa lineage, we've each spent decades cultivating our own unique approaches to expressive arts, somatic practice, creativity, and healing. Bringing those perspectives together creates a rich and deeply supportive experience that we can't wait to share.

Over five days at the beautiful Shantigar Foundation in Western Massachusetts, we'll slow down, reconnect with ourselves and the natural world, and explore movement, visual art, creative writing, breath, reflection, and community.

To keep this experience intimate, we're welcoming just 10 participants, allowing space for meaningful connection and personal attention.

πŸ‚ The Very-Early bird registration ends July 15, and payment plans are available.

If your heart is longing for time to rest, create, and reconnect, we'd love to have you join us. https://www.shantigar.org/arts-immersion

🎨✨ Ever notice how creating something meaningful can bring up fear, self-doubt, or the urge to procrastinate?

I know that feeling well.

In Part 2 of my latest blog series, I’m sharing some of the ""creative demons"" we all face and a few practices that have helped me keep creating even when resistance shows up. From perfectionism to overwhelm, these challenges are more common than you might think.

If you've ever struggled to make space for your art or wondered why the creative process can feel so emotionally complex, I hope you'll give it a read. πŸ’›

I'd also love to hear what helps you move through creative fear and find your way back to making.
