One of the things I wish we talked about as passionately as fasting is refeeding.

So many people become focused on fasting longer and longer, believing that's where all the magic happens. But fasting is only one half of the equation. The reality is that you can fast harder, longer, and more often, but if you're not intentionally rebuilding your body when you eat again, you're leaving some of the most powerful benefits on the table.

Fasting creates the opportunity for healing by clearing out damaged cells and creating demand for repair.

Refeeding is what provides the raw materials your body needs to rebuild.

This is where important processes like stem cell regeneration, tissue repair, muscle maintenance, hormone production, and metabolic recovery are supported.

The goal was never to see how long you can go without food. The goal is to create a healthy rhythm between fasting and nourishment that allows your body to repair, regenerate, and thrive.

That's where true longevity is built 🙌

Is coffee supporting your health goals - or is it keeping you stuck in a cycle of stress, poor sleep, hormone imbalance, and burnout?

The answer isn't found in a study, a trend, or an influencer's morning routine.

It's found in your body's response. Over on my Substack, I'm breaking down the relationship between coffee, cortisol, the nervous system, and why what works for one woman may not work for another.

Before you pour your next cup, this is a conversation worth reading ☕💙 https://substack.com/

I think one of the most important conversations we need to have in women's health is about the intersection of body image, chronic calorie restriction, and disordered eating.

Many women have spent 20, 30, even 40 years trying to lose weight. Not because they're unhealthy, but because they've been taught that being smaller will finally make them enough.

The tragedy is that years of restriction often disconnect women from their hunger cues, damage their relationship with food, and leave them feeling trapped in a cycle that no longer serves them. Health isn't built through self-punishment. It's built through nourishment, self-trust, and learning to work with your body instead of against it 💜

One of the reasons sardine fasting has exploded in popularity is because sardines check so many metabolic health boxes at once.

They're part of the SMASH family of fish (Sardines, Mackerel, Anchovies, Salmon, and Herring) which are known for being some of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids while also being lower in environmental toxins than many larger fish.

These tiny fish are packed with protein, incredibly satiating, and loaded with nutrients that support brain health, inflammation balance, and metabolic function.

That's why they're such a powerful food to break a fast with.

Not only do they help replenish your body with high-quality nutrients, but many people find the combination of protein and healthy fats helps keep cravings under control, stabilize blood sugar, and make weight management feel easier.

Sometimes the most powerful foods for healing aren't exotic, hard to find superfoods. They're simple, nutrient-dense foods that work with your biology 🙌🐟

One of the things I wish more women understood about aging is that there is no rule book that says joy has an expiration date.

Somewhere along the way, many of us start speaking to ourselves differently. We tell ourselves we're too old to wear certain things, try new hobbies, start a business, fall in love, travel, dance, or reinvent ourselves.

But those limitations rarely come from our biology. They come from beliefs we've absorbed over time. Aging isn't meant to be a slow retreat from life. It's an invitation to know yourself more deeply, trust yourself more fully, and stop seeking permission to be who you are.

Let yourself be curious. Let yourself be playful. Let yourself surprise yourself.

The healthiest women I know aren't the ones obsessing over every wrinkle or number on the scale. They're the ones living as if they're in a loving relationship with themselves, choosing joy, adventure, connection, and possibility at every age 💙

Monday kicks off a very special Fast Training Week, and we're doing something a little different: WE'RE SARDINE FASTING! 🐟

Sardines are one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, packed with omega-3 fatty acids, high-quality protein, minerals, and nutrients that support brain health, metabolic health, inflammation balance, and satiety.

Throughout the week, I'll teach you exactly how sardine fasting works, who it may be right for, and how to use it as a tool to support your health goals.

But one of the most powerful parts of Fast Training Week isn't the sardines, it's the community.

Thousands of people come together to learn, experiment, ask questions, and support one another as we build healthier habits.

If you're curious about sardine fasting and want to experience it alongside an incredible group of like-minded people, click the link and we'll save your spot! 💜 https://resetacademy.drmindypelz.com/lm-ftw-fc

One of the most heartbreaking things I see women do in midlife is spend years trying to force their body back into a season of life it has already outgrown.

They compare themselves to who they were at 25, 35, or even 45 and view every change as a loss. But your body isn't asking you to go backwards. It's asking you to evolve.

Perimenopause and menopause are not just hormonal transitions, they are invitations to build a deeper relationship with yourself.

The women who thrive aren't the ones desperately clinging to old strategies. They're the ones willing to get curious, learn a new language, and meet this next version of themselves with compassion instead of criticism 💙

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make with fasting is assuming that if some fasting is good, then more fasting must be better.

We start chasing longer and longer fasts, believing they'll get us to our goals faster, when in reality fasting is meant to be a tool that adapts to you - not the other way around.

There will be seasons of life when longer fasts feel supportive and seasons when your body needs more nourishment, recovery, and stability. That's why learning to listen to your body is just as important as learning how to fast.

And let's not forget one of the most powerful parts of fasting: the refeed.

The food choices you make when you break your fast are where so much of the healing happens. Every fast eventually leads to an eating window, and that eating window isn't a break from healing - it's part of the healing.

The goal isn't to fast as much as possible. The goal is to create a rhythm between fasting and nourishment that helps your body thrive 🙌

One of the things I find fascinating about the conversation around GLP-1 medications is that they're working through systems your body already has. GLP-1 helps slow gastric emptying and sends signals to your brain that you've had enough to eat - both completely normal biological processes.

The bigger question we should be asking is why so many of us have become disconnected from those signals in the first place.

For decades, we've been encouraged to snack constantly, eat on schedules instead of hunger cues, and override our body's natural communication.

We've normalized always having food nearby, always eating a little more, and rarely allowing ourselves to experience true hunger or true fullness.

Whether you're using a GLP-1 medication or not, there's tremendous value in rebuilding that relationship with your body.

Learning to recognize hunger, satisfaction, fullness, and how different foods make you feel is one of the most powerful metabolic skills you can develop. Your body has incredible wisdom, it just needs the opportunity to be heard again 💙
