✨ Learning Through Meaningful Connections ✨

Our Occupational Therapy Assistant students recently partnered with adults from Perfect Fit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs, for a day filled with creativity, connection, and hands-on learning. 🎨💙

Through arts and crafts activities, our students gained valuable experience developing therapeutic interventions, building communication skills, and creating meaningful engagement opportunities that support independence and quality of life.

Experiences like these help prepare future OTAs to make a lasting impact in diverse healthcare and community settings while fostering inclusion and empowerment for all.

🐾 Giving back to our community, one paw at a time! 🐾

Our Veterinary Assistant students recently organized a towel and blanket drive to support the incredible animals at the San Diego Humane Society in Escondido. After a month of collecting donations, we proudly delivered four large bags filled with much-needed supplies for pets awaiting their forever homes.

As part of the experience, several students joined their instructor for a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter, gaining valuable insight into another rewarding career pathway within veterinary medicine and animal welfare. They even had the opportunity to meet an adoptable medical case dog receiving specialized care, including recovery from eye surgery and treatment for skin conditions.

The San Diego Humane Society’s multiple campuses provide a wide range of medical services and compassionate care for animals in need before they find loving families. We are grateful for the opportunity to support their mission and expose our students to the many ways they can make a difference in the veterinary field.
