So with a $12,000 loan and a solid plan for the future, they founded Lifespan, a comprehensive aging care management agency dedicated to providing the highest quality and most cost-effective care. Lifespan had a wonderful time joining Hope Project Center at the San Jose Giants’ We Care Wednesday.

Building relationships with organizations like Hope Project Center helps us stay connected to the resources available to older adults and families in our community. The stronger our community connections are, the better we can support the people who turn to us.

Lifespan will be at the Senior Caregiver & Family Resource Fair on September 10, alongside local organizations and professionals who support older adults and their families.

Our Lifespan team recently spent time with Lisa Clarke learning about Ananta Assisted Living and the amenities and services their new community will offer.

Having trusted local resources can make navigating the next chapter of aging a little easier, and we’re excited to see another option coming to our community.

They tell you they’re fine. But sometimes the little changes tell a different story.

💊 Forgetting medications frequently
🚿 Difficulty keeping up with personal hygiene
❤️ Becoming more lonely or isolated
🚶 Frequent falls or changes in mobility

These changes don’t always mean there’s an immediate crisis, but they can be signs that a little extra support could make a meaningful difference.

You don’t have to wait until something happens to start the conversation.

Having support in place early can help your parent stay safe and independent longer. And if something does change, having someone who already knows them, their routines, and their needs can make navigating what comes next a little easier.

Sometimes a 911 call isn’t only about an emergency. Sometimes it’s about not having the right support.

Brittani and April attended today’s Senior Round Table meeting at Dominican Hospital’s Education Center, where Redwood City Fire Fighter Josh Williams shared insight into the calls first responders see in the field.

He spoke about older adults calling 911 because they need help with everyday tasks, are navigating unsafe living conditions, don’t know where else to turn, or are simply lonely.

It was a powerful reminder of why support before crisis is so important.

Lifespans Care Management and Well-Being Services help older adults navigate everyday challenges, stay connected, and continue living as safely and independently as possible.

Caring for an aging family member from a distance can come with a lot of questions.

Are they doing okay? Did they make it to their appointment? Are they keeping up with groceries and medications?

A Care Manager can be your eyes and ears when you can’t be there in person. At Lifespan, our Care Managers are nurses and, in some cases, social workers, bringing professional experience and a deeper understanding of the challenges that can come with aging.

With direct communication, regular personal check ins, and help coordinating the everyday details, families can stay involved in their loved one’s care even when they live miles away.

Because being far away shouldn’t mean feeling out of the loop. ❤️

🏡 Big moves are easier with the right people in your corner!

justapril831 our Well-Being Program Coordinator and Carolyn of Every Phase Transitions recently joined a panel at Bailey Properties to chat about resources that can make downsizing and transitioning into a smaller home a little easier.

From Carolyn’s transition services to Lifespan’s Well-Being Program, there are so many ways we can support older adults before, during and after a move.

We also loved connecting with real estate consultant Seabea Ghoph and talking about how our Well-Being Program can be a great resource for real estate professionals looking to better support their older clients. 💚

Ashley, Vanessa, Yvonne, and April, had the opportunity to tour the beautiful new Westmont Living community here in Santa Cruz, and they all left saying the same thing… they wanted to live there themselves! 😊

From the restaurant-style dining with a chef and rotating menu to the movie theater, activity spaces, and thoughtfully designed living options, it’s clear that every detail was created with comfort, connection, and quality of life in mind.

The team had a wonderful time getting to know the Westmont staff, connecting with other professionals who are passionate about supporting older adults and their families, and seeing firsthand what this community will offer.

Thank you for welcoming all of us and giving a sneak peek before your grand opening. We can’t wait to see Westmont blossom when you officially open your doors on August 17th.

Community isn’t built in big moments.

It’s built over a cup of coffee, a conversation, and people who genuinely care about their neighbors. ☕💙

Today, team members April and Yvonne had the opportunity to attend Coffee with a Cop at Java Junction, where they connected with local law enforcement and members of our Santa Cruz community.
One of our favorite parts of the morning was sharing more about Lifespan’s Well-Being Program and how staying connected, active, and engaged can make such a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.
A special thank you to Lt. Ben Whaley of Santa Cruz Police Department for taking the time to learn more about what we do, and to Volunteer Police Officer Jim Carraher, whose community well checks help ensure isolated older adults know someone is looking out for them.
We’re grateful to live and work in a community where so many people are committed to helping older adults age safely, independently, and with connection.
