We are so excited to celebrate Will as he receives his vehicle equipped with adaptive hand controls and takes an important step toward regaining his driving independence!

With his new adaptive equipment, Will will be able to get back behind the wheel and regain the freedom to return to work, attend appointments, visit friends and family, and participate in the social activities he enjoys. 🙌

Driving independence is about so much more than getting from one place to another—it’s about freedom, opportunity, confidence, and being able to live life on your own terms.

In Pennsylvania, individuals with an amputation of the right leg or either arm are required to use adaptive driving equipment. Before receiving the appropriate license restrictions, drivers must complete a comprehensive driving evaluation and training to demonstrate they can safely operate a vehicle with the recommended equipment.

At Roadway to Independence, we guide drivers through every step of the process—from the driving evaluation and adaptive equipment recommendations to behind-the-wheel training—helping you gain the skills and confidence to get back on the road safely and independently.
