🎉 Happy 8th birthday, One Connection Healthcare!

Thank you to the providers, patients and community who have made this place what it is.

We started with an idea, and today we’re 20 providers strong. We’ll be 22 by the end of the year, so stay tuned for some announcements coming soon!

This week I sat looking into our waiting room and took it in. It so often feels alive. Friends run into each other, new friendships have formed in our chairs. Our neighbors, colleagues and community all come through our doors for care.

This isn’t just healthcare. It’s a healthcare home.

It lights me up to see it and feel it, and so often now it happens without me in the room.

At a time when access to care is being taken away from so many people, we’re proud to keep showing up, to keep opening doors and to lead with heart in everything we do. 💛

New Service + New Provider Alert! 🧬✨

We’re excited to welcome **Emily Hasser** to the One Connection Healthcare team!

Beginning in **October**, Emily will be bringing **genetic counseling** to our Seattle practice—helping patients better understand how genetics may influence their health, family, and future care.

We’re particularly excited about Emily’s knowledge and interest in **Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and connective tissue disorders**. Her work also includes supporting **pediatric patients, individuals and couples planning to conceive, and patients and families navigating a wide range of genetic questions and conditions.**

Genetic counseling can help you better understand your personal and family history, explore whether genetic testing may be appropriate, and make sense of results and next steps.

We’re thrilled to expand the services available to our patients and community with Emily joining our team this fall!

There are many simple ways to support your body during these smoky times.

🔥Staying well hydrated - helps your body process the exposure with more ease
🔥Keeping windows closed - helps reduce overall exposure, even better if you have an air filter or a DIY air filter running indoors
🔥Breath through your nose if or when you can - this is your bodies natural air filter
🔥Eye and sinus rinses - neti pots, saline rinses, saline drops all options, this helps keep the mucous membranes exposed to smoke less impacted by the exposure

If your body needs more support or feels extra sensitive to the smoke there are other treatments like anti-oxidant supplements (Vitamin C, NAC, Glutathione) and things like nebulized glutathione to support the lungs directly.

Welcoming our newest clinician, Mar! Mar will be providing therapy services as a licensed marriage and family therapist associate. Mar works with both couples and adults doing relational and trauma work with additional interest in eating disorders, neurodiversity, and chronic illness. We are so excited to have such a skilled clinician available to our patients and clients! It’s hard to find a therapist with openings so here is your chance to schedule while Mar starts with us. We have a new provider joining our team in November! Dr. Michael Manning joins us after his two year residency in pediatric and adult primary care. Not only are we excited for Dr. Manning to join our team because of his kind, eager to be engaged, and supportive personality, but also because he brings his pediatric skills to the clinic to expand our neonatal to adult care alongside Dr. Helen Kinsel! This means we have pediatric care appointments available five days a week. We are so excited to grow our pediatric department at OCH to better support families. Dr. Manning supports neonates to adults with both primary care and chronic care and also has physical medicine and pain management skills. Welcome Dr. Brynn! Dr. Brynn is OCH's newest naturopathic doctor resident physician and we are so pumped to have her join our team. Dr. Brynn has been here two weeks and you may see her join in on some visits with our residency director team (Drs Lily Stokely, Michael Rak, Alison Hearst and Helen Kinsel). After two quick weeks we already can tell Brynn is a great fit and will be another awesome support for the patients at OCH. She will be available for new patient scheduling as well as acute visits starting in the new year. With residents support we are more often able to offer same or next day appointments when acute needs arise.
