There are so many ways to make inclusion more meaningful, and our partnership with Sesame Street Learn & Play at American Dream is a wonderful example.

The recent kickoff of sensory inclusion hours at Sesame Street Learn & Play at American Dream was a great success, creating a more welcoming experience for children and families while continuing to expand what accessibility can look like.

Our interns have gained valuable workplace experience at Sesame Street Learn & Play, with some going on to permanent positions and thriving as valued members of the team. We are incredibly grateful for the empathy, understanding, and support shown by the Sesame Street Learn & Play staff.

So, we are proud to be present during sensory inclusion hours, connecting with families and sharing resources that can support autistic individuals throughout every stage of life.

We’re grateful to have partners who continue to ask what more they can do to create opportunities for people to learn, grow, work, connect, and experience joy.

We’re grateful to Bank of America for their generous support of Spectrum Works and our mission to create meaningful employment opportunities for autistic young adults for the second year in a row.

This grant will help support our programs and initiatives that provide job training, career development, and the skills and resources autistic young adults need to build successful careers and greater independence.

The logistics industry continues to demonstrate that inclusive hiring isn't just possible. It's good for business. Employers recognize the value autistic employees bring to the workplace, and companies from across the global supply chain are coming together around a shared mission because creating employment opportunities is bigger than any one organization.

That collective commitment sends a powerful message to autistic young adults, their families, and employers everywhere: businesses believe in autistic talent, and when we work together, we create opportunities that change lives.

When we talk about creating more inclusive workplaces, one of the most important things we can do is listen.

Kurt shares what his workplace non-negotiables are, what helps him succeed on the job, and what he wishes more employers understood about autism.

Every autistic individual is different, but conversations like these help break down misconceptions and remind us that creating opportunity starts with understanding. When employers take the time to listen to autistic employees and understand what helps them succeed, everyone benefits.

For the past 10 years, this event has helped support Spectrum Works' mission of connecting autistic young adults with meaningful employment opportunities. The 16th Annual MTS Bike Tour for Autism brought together riders, sponsors, volunteers, families, and supporters of all ages for a beautiful day in support of autism employment and opportunity.

Creating employment opportunities for autistic young adults takes more than any one organization. It requires collaboration between employers, community partners, policymakers, and workforce development leaders who are committed to building a more inclusive future.

In this month’s Letter from the CEO, Ann Marie Sullivan reflects on a recent roundtable discussion with New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Kevin Jarvis, organized by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), and why partnerships like these are critical to expanding employment opportunities for autistic individuals across our state.

The conversation reinforced an important truth: meaningful progress happens when government agencies, employers, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders work together toward a common goal.

Every mile ridden and every dollar raised helps support Spectrum Works' mission of preparing autistic young adults for meaningful employment and connecting businesses with talented, dedicated employees.
