It’s not “just aging.” And your brain isn’t failing.
In midlife, several powerful shifts often converge at once. Four of the big ones:
Hormones
Chronic stress
Sleep disruption
Metabolic & vascular health

But they don’t land the same way for everyone, for some women it’s also raising kids and caring for aging parents at the same time, or a season where everything lands at once.

Your brain isn’t broken. It’s adapting and asking for a different kind of care than it once did.

If you’ve seen women online reaching for Allegra + Pepcid to get through perimenopause… you’re not imagining the trend. And no, this isn’t us telling you to start combining antihistamines.

But it does open a conversation worth having: why are so many women suddenly more reactive in midlife to wine, to pollen, to their own skin?

The internet wants one tidy cause. Real bodies are more complicated than that. Hormones are part of the picture, but so are the gut, the immune system, stress, and inflammation and for a lot of women, the bigger story isn’t where TikTok says it is.
