Everyone needs a Social Security account online. You don’t have to collect Social Security to have one. Someone 18 years old and above can create an account at SSA.gov.
Once you have enrolled in Medicare and have a Medicare ID, you can create a Medicare.gov account. Two very different accounts. Both are needed and serve a purpose in retirement.

Hint: please don’t wait until the last minute to set up an SSA.gov if planning on getting on Medicare. Set this account up in advance and don’t lose your log in!

Medicare open enrollment runs from October 15th to December 7th. If you're on a Medicare plan, it's crucial to review your options for the upcoming year. Look out for your Annual Notice of Change in the mail in September, which details any changes to deductibles, premiums, or benefits. Don't miss this window to ensure you have the best plan for your needs, as you could be stuck with your current plan if you don't make changes.

Finally made it to this week! Excited to speak at the annual Certified Senior Advisor Conference in Denver! I’ll be speaking to professionals from around the country who work with seniors. The title of my presentation is: The Medicare Conversation : A Strategic Framework for Senior Professionals. I’ll be educating these professionals not only about the basics of Medicare but when to bring up this conversation with their clients and how to partner with the right resource to help them get started in the right direction. It’s going to be fun!
