We spend a lot of Wednesday nights talking about the hard stuff.

Recovery. Relationships. Faith. Setbacks. The things beneath the surface.

But lasting freedom also includes learning how to enjoy life again.

So tonight, weโ€™re doing something simple.

UNO. Food. Conversation. Community.

No lesson to prepare for. No pressure to share. No need to have your life figured out.

Just come hang out.

As summer winds down and families settle back into the rhythm of school, weโ€™re closing out the month together with a Navigate Freedom Game Night.

Bring yourself. Bring a friend. Bring your UNO game face.

Tonight | 6:00 PM
LifeChange Church

Come as you are.

There is a seat at the table waiting for you.

What do I do when my own mind becomes hard to manage?

Maybe your thoughts have been racing.

Maybe you have been withdrawing from people, struggling to function, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, numb, exhausted, or simply unlike yourself.

Maybe you have wondered whether what you are experiencing means something is wrong with your faith.

You are not alone in asking those questions.

Tonight at Navigate Freedom, we are exploring mental health without shame, simple explanations, or reducing people to a diagnosis.

Mental-health struggles can affect how we think, feel, perceive, and function, but they do not determine our identity or place us beyond the care of Christ.

Series 7: Managing Challenges and Setbacks
Lesson 12: Mental Health | Managing Disorders

Tonight, we will explore:

โ€ข How do I know when what I am experiencing may require more support?
โ€ข Can a diagnosis describe part of my experience without defining who I am?
โ€ข Can faith, counseling, treatment, medication, recovery support, and community work together rather than compete?

Biblical Scripture

โ€œFor I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.โ€

Romans 8:38-39, NASB1995

Your struggle may affect your life.

It does not define your identity.

Receiving appropriate help does not mean your faith has failed.

Sometimes the next faithful step is prayer. Sometimes it is repentance. Sometimes it is rest. Sometimes it is calling someone, returning to recovery support, talking with a counselor, following a treatment plan, or simply admitting:

โ€œI am not doing well, and I need more help.โ€

Come as you are.

You do not need to understand everything you are experiencing. You do not need to have the right words for it. You do not need to pretend everything is okay.

Come join honest people who are learning to follow Christ, tell the truth about what is happening, receive appropriate support, and continue walking toward lasting freedom together.

Am I taking care of the life God has entrusted to me?

Maybe you have been running on empty for so long that exhaustion feels normal.

Maybe you know you need rest, healthier rhythms, stronger relationships, or support, but knowing what is healthy and actually living it can feel like two very different things.

You are not alone in that struggle.

Tonight at Navigate Freedom, we are exploring how healthy living is not about controlling every outcome, creating the perfect routine, or measuring ourselves against someone else's life.

It is learning to faithfully care for what God has entrusted to us.

Series 7: Managing Challenges and Setbacks
Lesson 11: Healthy Lifestyle | Nurturing Well-Being

Tonight, we will explore:

โ€ข Why can knowing what is healthy still be different from actually doing it?
โ€ข What do my limits have to do with faithful living?
โ€ข What needs attention, adjustment, acceptance, or support in my life right now?

Biblical Scripture

โ€œAnd He said to them, โ€˜Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.โ€™ (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)โ€

Mark 6:31, NASB1995

Jesus did not shame His disciples for being tired.

He recognized their limits.

Having limits is not a failure of faith. Rest is not weakness. Asking for help is not defeat.

Sometimes faithfulness means continuing. Sometimes it means stopping. Sometimes it means serving. Sometimes it means allowing someone else to help carry the load.

Come as you are.

You do not need a perfect routine. You do not need to fix everything at once. And you do not need to pretend you are handling everything well.

Come join honest people who are learning to follow Christ, support one another, and build lives that increasingly support lasting freedom.

Does my life still matter?

Maybe your past has caused you to question your future.

Maybe failure has left you wondering whether you missed your opportunity, wasted too much time, or somehow disqualified yourself from being used by God.

You are not alone in asking those questions.

Tonight at Navigate Freedom, we are exploring how purpose is not something we earn through success, productivity, or having our entire future figured out.

Purpose begins by following Christ faithfully in the life He has given us today.

Series 7: Managing Challenges and Setbacks
Lesson 10: Life Purpose | Meaning in Recovery

Tonight, we will explore:

โ€ข Does God still have a purpose for me?
โ€ข Does failure cancel my future?
โ€ข What is my next faithful step?

Biblical Scripture

โ€œThen Jesus again spoke to them, saying, โ€˜I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.โ€™โ€

John 8:12, NASB1995

Your worth is not determined by your accomplishments.

Your failures do not have the authority to write the final chapter of your life.

You may not know the entire path ahead, but Christ can give you enough light to take the next faithful step.

Come as you are.

You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to pretend that everything is okay. Come join honest people who are learning to follow Christ, support one another, and walk toward lasting freedom together.

Lesson 9: Cultural Resources | Strength in Tradition

Famous Quote:

"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." โ€“ Gustav Mahler

Biblical Scripture:

โ€œNeglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.โ€ He was also saying to them, โ€œYou are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.โ€
(Mark 7:8-9)

Why It Matters:

- Every one of us has inherited beliefs, traditions, and ways of living that helped shape who we are. Some are gifts to be treasured.

- Others need to be examined through the truth of God's Word.

- Jesus honored people and their stories, but He never allowed culture or tradition to carry greater authority than Scripture.

- He invites us to receive what is good, surrender what is harmful, and faithfully follow Him.

- Through Christ, we are not only healed from unhealthy patterns.

- We are empowered to build a new legacy marked by truth, grace, healthy relationships, and faithful obedience for the generations that follow.

๐Ÿ›  Weekly Reflection

Introspective:

What belief, tradition, or pattern have I accepted simply because it was familiar rather than because it was faithful?

Extrospective:

What healthy tradition or Christ-centered legacy can I begin building that will positively influence my family, community, or those who come after me?

This Wednesday we'll explore one of the most practical questions we can ask:

What has been handed to me... and what does Christ want me to carry forward?

Together we'll discover how to honor our heritage, test every tradition through Scripture, and build a legacy that points people to Jesus.

Honor the gift. Test the tradition. Follow Christ.

Lesson 8: Sexuality and Intimacy | Healing in Relationships

Famous Quote:

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." โ€“ Eden Ahbez

Biblical Scripture:

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me."
(John 15:4)

Why It Matters:

- Every human heart longs to know and be known, to love and be loved.
- Those desires were placed within us by God, but they find their deepest fulfillment only in Him.
- This lesson is not primarily about sexual behavior. It is about God's design for relationship, the way sin distorts intimacy, and how Christ restores what has been broken through truth, grace, and faithful relationship with Him.
- Healthy intimacy does not begin by finding the right person. It begins by continually walking with the right Savior. As we abide in Christ, He transforms our hearts and teaches us how to love others as He first loved us.

๐Ÿ›  Weekly Reflection

Introspective:

Where have I been searching for intimacy, belonging, or fulfillment apart from Christ?

Extrospective:

How can I reflect Christ's love through greater honesty, faithfulness, grace, and compassion in my relationships this week?

This Wednesday we'll explore one of the most personal topics in Scripture through the lens of truth, grace, and restoration. No matter your past, your relationship status, or your story, Christ's invitation remains the same:

Walk with Him. Remain in Him. Allow Him to restore what only He can restore. See less

Lesson 7: Stigma & Discrimination | Overcoming Obstacles

Famous Quote:

"People grow through what they go through." โ€“ Tyrese Gibson

Biblical Scripture:

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

Why It Matters:

- Labels may describe part of your story, but they should never become your identity. Jesus consistently looked beyond people's failures and saw who they could become through Him.

- Shame says your past defines you. Christ says His grace gives you a new identity and a new future.

- Lasting freedom begins when the loudest voice in your life is no longer your past, the opinions of others, or your own shame. It becomes the truth of who Christ says you are.

๐Ÿ›  Weekly Reflection

Introspective:

What labels have I allowed to define me that Christ has never spoken over my life?

Extrospective:

How can I intentionally see and treat others through the same grace, truth, and dignity that Jesus extends to me?

Lesson 6: Relapse Prevention | Building Lasting Recovery

Famous Quote:
"We first make our habits, then our habits make us." โ€“ John Dryden

Biblical Scripture:

"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith..."
(1 Peter 5:8-9)

Why It Matters:

- Lasting freedom is built long before temptation ever arrives.

- Relapse rarely begins with one decision. It usually begins with small compromises that quietly lead us away from Christ.

- God doesn't simply call us to avoid destructive behavior. He transforms our hearts, renews our minds, and teaches us to walk faithfully one decision at a time.

๐Ÿ›  Weekly Reflection

Introspective:

What small habits or areas of spiritual drift might God be asking me to address before they become larger struggles?

Extrospective:

How can I encourage someone else to build a life of lasting freedom through truth, community, and faithful daily choices?

Lesson 4: Self-Compassion | Kindness on the Journey

Famous Quote:

"Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love."
โ€“ Brenรฉ Brown

Biblical Scripture:

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning."
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

Why It Matters:

- Many people offer grace to others while withholding it from themselves.

- This lesson explores how self-compassion helps break cycles of shame, perfectionism, and self-criticism that often hinder recovery.

- Healing grows when we learn to extend the same mercy to ourselves that God freely offers us each day.

๐Ÿ›  Weekly Reflection

Introspective:

How do I speak to myself during failure or struggle, and would I speak that way to someone I love?

Extrospective:

How can I encourage others to practice grace and compassion toward themselves during difficult seasons?
