Here’s a question that might ruffle some feathers…

ā€œIf colon hydrotherapy is so beneficial, why doesn’t my doctor recommend it?ā€

Well… did you know colonic irrigation actually has a history in medical practice? It was discussed in medical literature more than 100 years ago, studied by physicians, and colonic irrigation equipment could even be found in hospitals during the early 20th century.

So maybe the conversation shouldn’t end with:

ā€œMy doctor doesn’t offer it, so it must not have value.ā€

Maybe we should be asking more questions.

What determines which therapies stay inside our modern healthcare system?
What role do research, standardization, insurance coverage and reimbursement play?
And where does supportive, preventative and holistic care fit into the conversation?

Colonics are not a cure-all, and they do not replace medical care from your doctor. But colon hydrotherapy didn’t suddenly appear on Instagram as some trendy ā€œdetox.ā€ It has a documented history in medicine.

Today, it primarily exists outside conventional medical care — and I think that history is worth knowing.

Your doctor can be an incredibly important part of your healthcare team without being the only resource you use to care for your body.

Get curious. Ask questions. Learn how your digestive system works.

And maybe it’s time we stop treating talking about P**P like it’s taboo. šŸ’©šŸ˜‰ The colon deserves a seat at the wellness table.

Seasonal sickness is COMMON. But that doesn’t mean we have to treat feeling run-down all season as inevitable. šŸ‚šŸ¤§

Think about what changes this time of year: kids are back in classrooms, sports start up, schedules get busier, sleep routines shift, stress increases, and suddenly we’re interacting with a whole lot more people — and a whole lot more germs.

Exposure to viruses is part of life, and even a healthy immune system can get sick. But this is also a beautiful reminder to SUPPORT the body instead of simply waiting for sickness to arrive.

šŸ„• Eat a variety of whole, nutrient-dense foods
šŸ’§ Hydrate well
😓 Prioritize sleep
ā˜€ļø Get outside and move your body
🄣 Support a healthy gut and adequate nutrition
🧼 And yes — wash your hands!

Food isn’t a replacement for medical care, but nutrition absolutely matters for immune function. What we consistently give our bodies helps provide the nutrients they need to do what God designed them to do.

So as we head into ā€œsick season,ā€ maybe instead of accepting months of feeling crummy as normal, we get intentional about supporting our bodies well. šŸ¤

Common doesn’t always mean optimal.

Have you ever actually looked at the Bristol Stool Chart?? Because how often you p**p is only part of the conversation. What your p**p looks like matters, too.

šŸ’© Types 1–2 → harder, drier stool + often associated with constipation
šŸ’© Types 3–4 → generally considered that happy, healthy middle
šŸ’© Types 5–7 → increasingly loose/watery + faster transit

And while there’s a wide range of what’s considered medically ā€œnormal,ā€ I want you to pay attention to YOUR normal.

Think about it:
You eat breakfast.
You eat lunch.
You eat dinner.
Day after day after day…

But you’re only p**ping a couple times a week?! šŸ‘€

Your digestive tract is constantly processing, absorbing and eliminating. Food doesn’t simply pile up meal-for-meal in your colon, but infrequent, difficult, incomplete bowel movements can absolutely be a sign that your gut needs some attention.

My favorite question isn’t just ā€œDid you p**p today?ā€

It’s:
Did you have an easy, complete, comfortable bowel movement today? šŸ’©āœØ

Because we’re not just trying to p**p.
We’re trying to p**p WELL. šŸ˜‚

And yes, I will happily discuss your Bristol Stool Chart number over coffee. ā˜•ļøšŸ’©

Yep. That’s the speculum. šŸ˜‚šŸ‘

And yep… I KNOW it’s probably the exact reason you’ve been thinking about booking a colonic for six months and still haven’t done it.

Here’s what I want you to know: it looks way more intimidating than the actual experience is.

It’s small, insertion is gentle, and once we’re set up, it’s removed—leaving only the tiny tubing in place while you relax for your session.

No guessing. No Googling yourself into a panic. No expectation that you somehow already know how any of this works. šŸ˜‚

My job is to explain every step, protect your dignity, help you feel comfortable, and make something that sounds incredibly awkward feel surprisingly normal.

And trust me… I talk about p**p for a living.
You cannot embarrass me. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤

So if the speculum is the only thing standing between you and finally trying a colonic…

Come talk to me. I’ve got you. šŸ‘šŸ’©

To know her is to know she LOVES her Oxy-Powder. šŸ˜‚šŸ’©

Why? Oxy-Powder is magnesium-based support designed to draw water into the bowel, helping hydrate and soften stool so it’s easier to pass—without relying on stimulant laxatives.

I’m a BIG magnesium girl and believe most of us could benefit from getting enough magnesium daily, but Oxy-Powder is my as-needed, couple-times-a-week option when things need a little extra encouragement. šŸ˜‰

Hydrate the stool. Support the movement. Give that colon a little refresh.

You can find it at our local Juniper Apothecary ! Go say hi and snag yourself some Oxy Powder!

Okay, first-timers… let’s talk about the elephant in the room. šŸ‘šŸ˜‚

ā€œBut… you’re going to put WHAT in WHERE?!ā€

Listen. I KNOW.

For a lot of people, the thing standing between ā€œI’ve been thinking about getting a colonic foreverā€ and actually booking the appointment is one tiny word:

Speculum. 😳

And if you’ve Googled it, scared yourself, closed the tab, Googled it again, and decided maybe you’ll just stay constipated forever… GET OFF GOOGLE. šŸ˜‚ Come talk to me.

You are absolutely not the first person to be nervous about this part of your appointment. You won’t be the last. And there is nothing embarrassing about asking me exactly how it works before you ever get on my table.

This is also exactly why you come to a trained colon hydrotherapist rather than trying to figure out your digestive system—or anything involving your booty—through a late-night Google rabbit hole.

I’ll explain what we’re doing.
I’ll tell you what to expect.
I’ll answer the awkward questions.
We go slowly.
And your comfort, dignity, and consent matter throughout the entire appointment.

Trust me: your butt is not going to be the weirdest thing about my day. šŸ˜‚ It’s quite literally my job.

So if you’ve been curious about colon hydrotherapy but the ā€œHOW DOES THAT PART WORK?!ā€ has kept you from booking…

Ask me.

Seriously. Ask the embarrassing question. Send the DM. Come talk to me.

First-timers are my favorite because I get to turn ā€œI was TERRIFIEDā€ into ā€œWait… that was it?!ā€ šŸ¤šŸ‘

You’re not just tired. 😓

Your body might be waving a bigger flag than you realize.

It could be…

šŸ’© Constipation (yes—even if you’re p**ping daily)
🦠 An imbalanced gut microbiome
šŸ”„ Chronic inflammation
šŸ½ļø Poor nutrient absorption
🧬 Low iron, B12, or folate
⚔ Blood sugar highs and crashes
šŸ’§ Dehydration + low electrolytes
😰 A nervous system stuck in stress mode
šŸ›”ļø An overworked immune system
🧫 Dysbiosis after antibiotics
šŸž Food sensitivities keeping your gut inflamed
😓 Poor sleep quality
šŸ«€ Sluggish digestion
🚽 Waste sitting in the colon longer than it should

Fatigue isn’t always something to push through—sometimes it’s something to investigate.

Your gut impacts your energy more than most people realize. ā¤ļø

šŸ’©šŸ’©šŸ’©

One bowel movement a day doesn’t automatically mean you’re constipated… but it also doesn’t always mean you’re fully eliminating everything your body needs to.

Your digestive system is unique, and stool frequency is only one piece of the puzzle. Consistency, ease of passing, bloating, gas, incomplete evacuation, and how you feel all matter.

If you’re struggling with sluggish digestion or chronic constipation, it’s worth looking deeper—not just accepting it as ā€œnormal.ā€

What’s your normal? šŸ‘‡ I go at LEAST 2 times a day!

Water has always been a symbol of renewal.

Baptism reminds us that through Christ we are washed, forgiven, and made new.

Colonics don’t cleanse the soul—that’s Jesus’ work alone—but they can support the body He so beautifully designed, helping us release, restore, and reconnect.

Sometimes healing begins with letting go. šŸ¤
