✨ A Meaningful Evening with Our Legacy Society ✨

We were honored to gather for a beautiful evening at the home of Lori M. Thomas, celebrating the incredible impact of our Legacy Society members.

Surrounded by warm conversation, shared stories and a spirit of generosity, the evening was a powerful reminder of how planned giving helps secure a brighter future for generations to come.

Honoring a legacy. Empowering a future.

Latoyka Williams is this year’s recipient of the Zerno Martin Scholarship—a meaningful tribute to a man who served as both a dedicated healthcare administrator and a beloved member of our Foundation team. Through this scholarship, Zerno’s legacy continues to change lives.

“The scholarship was a tremendous help to me as a single parent working to support myself while attending college alongside my son. It eased the financial burden, allowing me to focus more on my education and less on stress about expenses. Because of this support, I feel more confident in my ability to succeed and build a better future for both of us," Williams said.

We are deeply grateful to the Longleaf Fund at the Foundation For The Carolinas for awarding a $75,000 grant to support the construction of a dedicated NICU milk room.

This space will play an important role in supporting families and care teams by ensuring safe handling, storage and access to breast milk and formula for our most vulnerable newborns. Investments like this strengthen our ability to provide the highest level of compassionate, family‑centered care.

Thank you for partnering with us to make a lasting impact for our NICU families and the tiniest patients we serve.
