Are you struggling with weight in your midsection? 😩If you’re a 40+ woman, your estrogen is declining and that often causes your body to shift where your fat is stored, from your hips and thighs to your midsection. Elevated cortisol makes it even more difficult to get rid of it. That visceral fat can be the most dangerous kind of fat, and it elevates your risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke. So this isn’t about getting defined abs, it’s about overall wellness and longevity.
Here’s what you can do to fight back against what your changing hormones are doing to your body:
✔️Focus on weight training, and make sure you’re lifting heavy enough to build muscle. Yeah, I know you’ve heard this a lot, but there’s a reason for that! It works.
✔️Make sure you’re eating in a way that keeps your blood sugar in check. Focus on high protein + high fiber meals.
✔️Work to keep your cortisol balanced. Good quality sleep and stress management are critical.
✔️Eat foods that support balanced hormones.
