Revenue and Profit are not the same. More of one does not mean more of the other. What if you would pinpoint exactly where your agency is leaking revenue that is impacting your profit?

For some agency leaders, the challenge isn't a lack of effort. It's a lack of visibility into what's actually driving financial performance.
That's where FinHealth's Profit Cycle Management™ (PCM™) approach comes in, helping leaders look beyond traditional financial reporting to better understand where revenue and profit leakage may be occurring.
In this clip from Home Health Revealed, Victoria Kuklina of FinHealth shares what happens when operators gain that visibility and can start taking action on what they find.
Sometimes better performance starts with simply being able to see the problem.

Long ago, in the faraway land of Intake, a little claim began its journey...

Before it ever reached billing, there were eligibility checks, authorizations, documentation, coding, and plenty of opportunities for something to go right or wrong.

What happens early in the patient journey can ultimately affect what happens downstream. When something is missed upstream, the result can be billing delays, denials, and slower reimbursement.

A strong revenue cycle starts with getting the right information and processes in place from the beginning.

You wouldn’t treat a patient without first understanding what’s really going on. The same thinking can apply to your organization.

When a problem surfaces, addressing what you can see may only go so far. Sustainable improvement starts with looking deeper, asking the right questions, and understanding the root cause before jumping to a solution.

Chris Taylor of Taylor’d Growth shares a great perspective on this in a recent episode of Home Health Revealed, including how his Corporate C.U.R.E.S. framework helps leaders diagnose organizational health and address what’s happening beneath the surface.

Don’t just treat the symptoms. Understand what’s causing them.

One denial may be an isolated issue. The same denial happening over and over is information.

Recurring denials can point to breakdowns earlier in the revenue cycle, from documentation and authorization to coding, eligibility, and internal workflows.

Correcting the claim may solve the immediate problem. Understanding why it happened can help prevent the next one.

Don’t just work the denial. Find the pattern, identify the root cause, and fix what’s driving it.

A hospice denial doesn’t always mean the patient didn’t qualify.

Sometimes, the decline was there. It just wasn’t clearly captured in the documentation.

So when a claim is denied because the record doesn’t support a six-month prognosis, the question becomes: Did the decline not happen, or did we fail to tell the story?

Annette Lee of Provider Insights breaks down this distinction and what hospice teams should be looking for.

Financial statements tell you what happened. Understanding why it happened is what helps you decide what to do next.

That’s the value behind the partnership between HealthRev Partners and FinHealth.

FinHealth’s Profit Cycle Management™ (PCM™) approach connects capacity, revenue, margin, and cash to give leaders greater visibility into the drivers behind financial performance. HealthRev brings the revenue cycle expertise to help turn those insights into action.

Together, we’re helping home health and hospice agencies connect what the numbers are saying with what happens next.

Every patient has a different definition of what matters most.

For one person, it might be living long enough to hold their first grandbaby. For another, it’s walking their daughter down the aisle or simply being able to walk their dog.

Those goals tell us something important: meaningful care looks different for every patient.

Understanding the person behind the diagnosis, the life they want to live, the moments they want to be there for, and the things they want to keep doing can help care teams make decisions that reflect what truly matters to them.

Raianne Melton from Axxess shared so much great insight on this in a recent episode of Home Health Revealed, including how Age-Friendly Care can help home health and hospice providers put each patient’s priorities at the center of care.

How healthy is your revenue cycle?

The numbers can tell you what’s happening. The right questions can help you understand why.

From aging AR and recurring denials to billing delays and unclear next steps, knowing where to look can help uncover the issues standing between your agency and more predictable revenue.

Better visibility starts with better questions.
